I am an experienced UKRCP registered BACP Accredited counsellor offering person-centred/humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused brief therapy and personal development coaching. All work is conducted via secure video link or telephone to ensure your safety and continuity of care.

I can work both short and long term according to your individual needs and I offer flexible daytime appointments from Monday to Friday. Looking at the way in which our thoughts and beliefs about events and environment affect us. Creating a safe and non-judgemental relationship space in which a person can relearn to be themselves.
Services
Counselling sessions at Fairhaven Counselling last for 50 minutes whether you are working over video link, telephone or face to face. If you are a new client then I will offer you a first session of 30 minutes free of charge. This is to enable you to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to get from it, and also to give you a chance to decide whether my approach feels right for you.
CBT is a form of talking therapy which looks at the way in which our thoughts and beliefs about events both present and past affect our behaviour and our feelings. It also looks at how the things we think we have learned through experiences e.g. I was once bitten by a dog so dogs are dangerous can negatively affect us e.g.
Counselling provides the opportunity to have a non-judgemental, and safe, confidential therapeutic relationship while you explore issues, emotions and situations which are preventing you from feeling able to cope. These feelings may be brought on by events that you can identify such as bereavement, relationship worries, or stress.
Experiencing periods of sadness in life is quite normal. Sometimes life events such as redundancy, divorce, bereavement, or illness can make us feel very unhappy for a period of time. Even neutral or positive events such as house moves, retirement, or promotion can result in confusing periods of low mood.
Online counselling is a great way to access the therapeutic help you want from the comfort of your own home. Clients can use a pc, tablet, iPad or mobile to link to a confidential virtual counselling space where our session can run as if you were visiting the counselling room.
