Services
Phillips Butchers has a long and rich history of supplying only the highest quality meats. It all began at Ormston Farm on Wingates Lane with Charles Phillips. His son, also named Charles, used the farm's dairy to cut meat and deliver it by horse-and-cart around Westhoughton. Soon after, Charles opened a butchers shop on Wigan Road before moving to a purpose-built location next to the Beehive Roundabout in 1938.
We only buy full bodies of beef from the local area and slaughtered in Wigan. All of our beef products come from prime beef cattle as opposed to the old dairy cows generally used in cheaper low-grade cuts of meat. It's all hands on deck when a new delivery arrives, as we prepare the meat using traditional butchery to get everything ready for our customers.
Locally-reared in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, our pork arrives as full sides, allowing us to prepare our meat using traditional butchery methods for our customers. Our delicious sausages are made only using natural casings and premium seasonings for a more authentic flavour. Why not try our maple-cured bacon for a twist on your average Sunday brunch?
