Services
Our story starts with the gorgeous Georgian Oddfellows Hall in Chester. Once a society for the misfits in society, the creative professions and all those who didn't quite fit in a box. It inspired interiors that delight the senses and a feel for fun that never takes itself too seriously. Combine this with our serious side.
We have searched high and low for the top suppliers in the North West. From chair covers, to florists and cake makers, we have the contacts to make your day run as smoothly as possible. Oddfellows would like to thank Neil Parry Photography for providing many of the wedding images which feature on the website.
There's no formality at Oddfellows and you can choose where you eat - from the wood panelled cocktail bar to the stunning restaurant, and outside in the secret garden, where the spectacular walled garden offers the most unique setting in Chester. If you're looking to give a gift of the Oddfellows experience, we have dining gift vouchers available from 14.50 so you can treat that special someone.
Our restaurant provides a dining experience with a sense of intimacy and fun combined with a splash of Oddfellows charm and warmth, fabulous textures adorn the walls and bespoke fabrics and fittings blend perfectly with its beautiful setting looking out to The Secret Garden. Start the day with a delicious breakfast available from 8am daily or if you're a sleepy head, pop in for a tasty brunch instead.
Our VIP BBQ Soiree is just 29.50 per person and includes BBQ food, mixed salads, fries and 3 bottles of beer per person or half a bottle of wine. Oddfellows is all about fun, theatre and good times together. You'll see lots of infused spirits and interesting ingredients on our cocktail list. It's about offering you something that's just a little bit different - in a fun atmosphere with attentive service.

It was a nice little place for afternoon tea. The food was great. The staff were great. The only downside was we were sat right next to another table who were talking pretty loud even though there were only 2 of us and a whole empty space. And it was also difficult to get staffs attention unless they walked into our area.

As part of a large group booking, the company took a large amount of money from us all in advance and we were told we had to pay in full. A few of us questioned this policy at the time seeing as COVID is at its peak and we weren't even sure we'd all be allowed to go.
Turns out they will not offer anything to the guest, not a refund or credit despite a member of the group testing positive and being unable to attend. They have said they'll just bring out that person's wine and food.
No comfort to the person already missing out, not needed to the others.
I strongly suggest you review your customer

This is well wacky. From the bar with its oversized wildlife to rooms with circular beds, everything here is patterned, papered and lit unexpectedly. This old masonic Hall has been turned upside down and inside out to create a hotel that is certainly delighted with its own style. It could have been a bit mannered but the staff are kind and seem to get on with each other which adds to the vibe. And Chester is a lovely city.

The room was up two flights of stairs with NO lift my wife is poor on her feet. Asked for another room, hotel full on a Sunday in November ! The room was too hot (Min setting is 19c and windows do not open) The T.V. did not work, the shower enclosure was poorly fitted and leaked, the bedside cabinet draws were badly fitted and hit the fridge door, the lights for the shower were hidden behind the coffee maker and not marked (the night porter had trouble finding them) tea bags supplied ONE EACH PERSON only two bags, how tight can you get, the fitted plug to the sink was seized, cheap quality.

We came for a spontaneous afternoon tea.
We went for the PRESTIGE option, and with my girlfriends vegetarian dietary requirements, they arrived at our table with two stands. We were surprised that we had got given so much, but we weren't complaining as it was beautiful. The array of sandwiches, scones and savoury bites were all delicious. Then halfway through we realised that a second course of cakes was still to come. Which again, we wasn't complaining but at this point were pretty full!
Even though we couldn't finish the cakes we could take them away in a box.
We would recommend Oddfellows

We had our wedding at Oddfellows last week and what a day it was!
From start to finish the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our guests. From the amazing wedding planners to the waiting on and bar staff.
The food was gorgeous, all our guests commented on how good the canapés and wedding breakfast was and of course the fish and chips or nachos at night.
Thank you for making our day so special.
PS - the rooms and breakfast were just as fab as the rest of the day.
Thanks Sian & Phil 🥰

Very disappointed. Prestige afternoon tea was £26. Consisted of equivalent of one small sandwich. Thin slice.of sausage roll, hard small fishcakes.Hard scones that we and another table nearby asked to be changed as so hard. Small slightly stale cakes. Service considering it was quiet was very slow. We had to wait and ask for drinks etc. Beautiful building but let down by poor over priced food and poor service.

Attended a wedding here. All was lovely. Stayed in old part of hotel, attic rooms. Got a bit warm as only roof window with limited opening. plugpoints are skirting board height which wasn't good. Lighting is very bright with bathroom separated by a glazed screen so if any night trips to the bathroom required in the dark be careful of the low beams on slanted ceiling. Such a characterful building tho. There is a modern extension for accommodation if preferred.
