Established in 1938, The Musselburgh Golf Club is situated in a stunning, mature parkland location just a few miles outside Edinburgh. I became Captain of Musselburgh Golf Club in 2020 and it is a privilege to serve this prestigious club at the highest level. Our outstanding championship course is arguably one of the finest in east central Scotland.
Designed by James Braid the course is enjoyable and accessible for all standard of golfer. Over the years the course has hosted many amateur championships and on two occasions the Scottish Professional Championship. It has had the distinction of being both a Regional Qualifying course as well as a Local Final Qualifying venue for THE OPEN.

Services
Golf began at 'Monktonhall' in 1938 with famous players including Henry Cotton playing in an exhibition match. The site of the course was previously agricultural land and the brief to James Braid was to design a championship course. Braid's response was "if you want a championship course you need length".
The Musselburgh Golf Club extends a warm welcome and invitation to all of our members and golfing visitors to make use of the facilities in our iconic Clubhouse. The extensive lounge and bar overlook the 1st tee and 18th green, with panoramic views to further parts of the course. The 18th green sits next to the Clubhouse, in full view of the patio area - a sun trap when the weather is kind.
The course is situated along the banks of the River Esk and has stunning views towards Inveresk Village, East Lothian and the Pentland hills beyond. The tree lined course offers a challenge for all level of golfers. In addition, the lush fairways and perfectly maintained undulating greens are beautifully presented in a mature parkland setting.
At the Musselburgh Golf Club we are very fortunate and extremely proud to have a short Junior Par 3 course situated adjacent to the 3rd and 6th holes. This offers the young members of the Academy as well as full members the opportunity to hone their golfing skills on a short Par 3 course. This fun and educational course has the perfect blended fundamentals and develops the on course experience.
At The Musselburgh Golf Club we have 2 separate practise areas. One area surrounding our short course and adjacent to the 3rd and 6th holes. The other area is adjacent to the 18th fairway and clubhouse, consisting of a large area and double green, with a large chipping area and sand bunker to help perfect your short game.

Ah, a club with a little CORRUPTION it would seem! My friend put in a review quite a while ago about an extremely rude committee member of this club, re a much earlier visit. Somehow his review has been removed from the Google reviews and moved to the 'questions' section, WHY? and how did you manage to do that, because it certainly was not placed as a question? It was placed as a review! How did you manage to change it?
