Lower Mill Boarding Kennels & Cattery are based in the beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Pontesbury and have been running for 34 years. We pride ourselves on providing fun and caring accommodation for dogs and cats whilst their owners are on holiday. Dogs who stay at Lower Mill are walked at least 4 times a day to provide mental stimulation.
Our cat chalets have fully insulated and heated back cabins so your cat can have a cosy holiday. 4. Services
At Lower Mill we offer the complete package when it comes to caring for and pampering your dog. Our kennels have been specially designed by a dog psychologist to minimise stress so your dog can be at ease. Our very large field offers lots of space whilst your dog is out walking. Although we don't let dogs off their leads we do use flexi-leads so your dogs have freedom to roam, run and explore.
Before arriving with your dog please read our list of things to remember, tips and additional information. If these opening times are not suitable to you, please speak to us when making your booking and we will try to accommodate you. Your dog must have had their vaccination and kennel cough at least 3 weeks prior to their holiday; you may want to check they are going to be in date for their stay with us.
We know that cats love nothing more than to explore, that's why our luxury heated chalets offer ample space for your cat to wander around during the day. Our outside chalets have fully insulated and heated back cabins and entry is gained through a cat flap, this can be lifted for those cats who are not used to one.

I was quite nervous at first to put my 2 cats in a cattery but Lower Mill is wonderful. The staff are so helpful and lovely which made leaving them easier. When I arrived to pick them up calming music was being played around the compartments which was a lovely touch! Thanks once again for taking such good care of Sophie and Bernard, we'll be back Xx

Marvellous thank you. My dog Seren has had a wonderful time. She loves staying with you and she has come home fit and looking so well. Sprout seemed to really enjoy his stay at Lower Mill Cattery. He was well looked after and seemed at home when we picked him up.
He received a lot of care and attention while he was there, and the staff seemed to have bonded with him very well.
I would recommend Lower Mill to anybody looking for somewhere for their cats/dogs to stay, and would 100% use them again.

This place is amazing - the staff are caring and knowledgeable and run a good tight ship in terms of inoculation rules which fills us with reassurance that our dogs will be healthy and safe. Love the one day trial visit too - meant they and we got to see if Lower Mills was the right place and boy is it :)

Having worked at Lower Mill for 18 years I know first hand how much love, care and hard work goes into looking after all the pets here. The team look after, and love, your pets as if they were their own. After I moved to Scotland, it took months to find a kennel that was even half as good as Lower Mill (and that now involves a 2hr round trip) as I was very fussy about where my boy stayed! In fact I could count on one hand the number or people I'd let look after my dog, and Lower Mill would come top! I cannot recommend them enough ~ definitely 5 star accommodation 😊💜

Both of my small breed dogs have been to Lower Mill for their holidays. The staff really care about the welfare of their canine visitors. The dogs have lots of stimulation and are walked several times during the day. The kennels are also super-clean. I heard of Lower Mill through a personal recommendation and I now always recommend Lower Mill to anyone else looking for overnight care for their dogs. My little girls (dogs) were invited to have a day visit before they stayed overnight which was a great idea as it meant I knew they would be happy and familiar with their surroundings and staff during
