A lovely restaurant but sadly the food was not as expected, the Lamb Henry was no more than lamb, mash and peas with far too much gravy and the so called Eton Mess was not even made properly with far too heavy unsweetened cream plopped onto a meringue shell, no sauce. Very disappointing and very expensive for what we ate.

I visited here recently as part of a party of 6. We were seated outside in between two outdoor heaters. It was very warm to the point we asked for the heater to be turned down. Not a criticism but good to know you don't have to bring a coat. The person serving our table was very attentive and patient with us. I thought the food was slightly on the pricey side however I really enjoyed both courses (burrata and pigs cheeks). When the mains turned up the lady serving them said I don't know what these are, my friend asked if it was the beef, the lady said I've no idea. She didn't bother to check but

This restaurant deserved more than a 5 star. We visited the restaurant in July. My venison Wellington was superb, it cooked to perfection. The pastry was just right and the meat was melt in my mouth, the potatoes was delish and the gravy was divine. My husband ordered 3 courses set lunch menu which has black pudding with poached egg on the bed of mustard sauce for a starter, beef with red wine and mushrooms sauce for main and finished with sticky pudding. Such a beautiful food. We came out the restaurant with a happy tummy. Fab fab fab!!! The staff was friendly too.

I ate too much here but I have no regrets - great food. Surprisingly for a pub, the ale selection is poor and my wine was not great either, but I guess it's more of a dining specialist and on that front does not disappoint at all. A good ranging menu with lots of appealing options for a range of tastes including some nice healthy options (e.g. fancy salad and fresh fish, which my friend had and I should have had...)

I went here for dinner with a group of 4, it was a busy night and most tables had reservations but they said they could serve us if we could be done in about an hour and 15 minutes. They sat us at a nice window table, service was excellent and the menu had many options. The beer selection was good and wine was very good. I had the pork cheeks and it was awesome. Others in my group had a steak, Shepherds pie and all enjoyed the meal. I know next time in town I will have reservations for this restaurant. Super service and staff.

Poor, we visited a few weeks ago to celebrate a friends birthday, the 6 of us were seated on a table for 4, we were still waiting for chairs when we were shown to the table. The food was very average and a simple sirloin steak was very tough, I left around one third of mine as it was fat and gristle. The place had a great reputation, maybe we had a bad night but I know it will be some time before we return.

We are lucky to be situated in the beautiful town of Harrogate and take advantage of all the fantastic Yorkshire produce on offer to us. Both the wine bar and restaurant have inviting bar areas to enjoy a drink whether you are eating with us or not.
The busy 'bistro style' wine bar serves a wide selection of British classics and we have over 150 wines to appeal to everyone's taste and pocket. Lunch is served daily in the wine bar with traditional Sunday lunch available 12 noon until 5pm every Sunday.
The stylishly decorated upstairs restaurant has an a La Carte menu with seasonal

So maybe this isn't the punchiest name ever but it certainly fits when you see it. We are in Harrogate after all. Names such as William and Victoria seem very apt.
So what do we have in store for you? Hold your horses and I'll tell you. This is a family run restaurant and wine bar serving traditional British food in the heart of Harrogate. And they do it well.
Downstairs is the bar where you can relax is nice surroundings and grab a bistro style bite. Upstairs is a sit down area to extinguish those hunger pangs and have a pleasant evening in style.
So if you want a special meal head

One of Harrogate's best bistro/restaurants. Upstairs there is a proper restaurant which serves really delicious traditional food, and downstairs is a more casual bistro type area. The menus reflect whichever eatery you've chosen but you are assured of a full and satisfied tummy in both and the food is excellent throughout. If you like your wine, as I do, the list is quite impressive with plenty to choose from as William and Vics take trouble in their selection.
