At w+r we specialise in producing cast in-situ concrete countertops, furniture and architectural features. Drawing on a wealth of experience and a creative sensibility we create exquisite, bespoke and truly unique fair faced concrete surfaces that grace any space they inhabit. We believe in 'truth to materials' and aim to celebrate the concreteness of concrete.
Simplicity of design, line and form are best placed to facilitate this, to allow the material to speak for itself. Our aim is to exceed our clients' expectations as to the level of quality of finish expected of in-situ concrete.

Born of a creative background, at w+r we are passionate about the alchemy of the concrete process, the transformation of the base materials into stunning features for the home and public spaces. Formed in 2004 we have developed a solid and growing reputation for delivering high quality, bespoke, hand trowelled concrete countertops and architectural features.
Borne of base materials concrete is a material of high compressive strength that can be controlled, moulded and appropriated to stunning effect. It is a unique, omni-form material whose change in state can be exploited to fantastic effect. At w+r we specialise in creating hand-trowelled and cast in-situ concrete countertops and worktops.
At w+r we work closely with architects to help facilitate the realization of their designs. We have extensive experience in producing bespoke concrete countertops and surfaces and other architectural elements such as walls, furniture, fire hearths and steps and can offer advice at the early design stages of a project where fair-faced concrete is to be employed.
At w+r we work closely with kitchen designers to maximize the potential of polished concrete within the kitchen environment. Polished concrete is an alternative to other everyday countertop materials for the design conscious and offers the advantage of being able to produce a seamless, joint free working surface.
Please go to the contact page and forward your request along with a clearly dimensioned drawing of your requirements and any relevant details such as knockoiuts required for sinks or hobs and your location. Each of our countertops is bespoke and cast in-situ which means we can create any shape, size or length seamlessly without joins.

I had a White and Reid concrete worktop fitted in my kitchen a few years ago and regretted it almost immediately. The work was carried out on time and the people involved were very nice, but the product is poor to say the least. The surface is damaged by the slightest spillage - water, oil, anything - and is impossible to clean properly. It now looks really tatty and oh, how I wish I'd fitted resin or granite. I asked W&R to come back and have a look at the surface to see if they could do anything about its under-performance, and was offered a call-out service for a sum approaching £200

A friend of mine used White & Reid for their home after doing a little bit of research on the net about the application of concrete in interior design. When I first heard about it I was a little apprehensive (concrete is something we've been trying to get rid of for the last 30 years isn't it?) but now that I've seen the final product I have to say that I'm quite a big fan.
