I would like to welcome you and your child to West Winch Primary School. I really hope that you will enjoy being part of our special school community and that your child will remember their days with us with pleasure and affection. This website is designed to give you an idea of the way the school is run and to give you information about the curriculum.

I hope that you will find it useful, but it does not attempt to take the place of the vital personal contact between school and parents, which is essential for effective relationships to develop. At West Winch, staff and governors are committed to a partnership between home and school. We aim to create a stimulating and supportive environment, so that children are able to develop to the full extent of their ability.
Services
This information is intended to provide clear information to pupils and parents/carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home. We teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate.
All members of the Governing Body are required to sign a Register of Business & Personal Interests at the start of each academic year - and update this document for each Governing Body or Governors Committee Meeting. Governors take on certain reponsibilities during the year, including links with each class and a number of other specific areas.
We aim to promote excellence in education through a caring, stimulating and challenging environment. This provides a high quality range of teaching and learning experiences, including high quality PE and Sport, for all children through the use of a relevant, adaptable curriculum. We strive to fully prepare each child, in a partnership with parents, community and each other to be lifelong learners in a diverse society.
This is our current School Council Constitution, which has been agreed by all members of our School Council. It is updated each academic year. Councillors, as representatives of pupils of the school agree to maintain the highest standards of behaviour. Pupils can stand for election to be councillors as often as they want while they are part of the school.
Helen Spencer is the Parent Support Adviser for West Winch Primary School and she also works in a number of other primary schools. You can find Helen in school on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and Thursday morning and Friday afternoon each week. Helen is based here at West Winch and is available to support all families on a friendly and informal basis.
