I was delivering garden goods to the property. Staggered by the timeless ambience and beauty of this fine period house and gardens. Like walking into a Somerset Maugham story. Perfect as a film set, hotel or wedding venue. Friendly owners. Am thinking of booking a weekend here.

Being met by Adrian & Mark at the door way of their magnificent home held a very warm welcome...a tour of the house and a sharing its history was the starting point...we had the fabulous Empire room with no detail spared for both luxury, comfort and style combined.
We dined in the wonderful dining room, every bit of our three course meal was delicious. We sat in the sun in the tranquil gardens and wandered in the lanes from the house enjoying the beautiful countryside.
Our second night was equally enjoyable...amazing choice of exquisitely served food for breakfast and dinner. If you want a night

Very quite and qaint, lovely for a relaxing week. The Housekeepers Cottage attached to the hall, the servants' staircase access now sealed off. Great evenings enjoying a real fire. Mark and Adrian are very welcoming and helpful hosts.

If you love ambience and lovely, lovely people, you MUST stay here.
We had a cottage in the grounds for a week and it was not nearly long enough.
The hotel and associated holiday let's are run by the most friendly pair of guys you could ever meet. They made us so welcome on arrival, treated us like friends during our stay and seemed as sorry to see us go as we were to leave.
Do yourself a favour and get booked up today!!!

I do not normally leave reviews, but this is a truly exceptional hotel, the cleanliness, decoration, comfort, food, service and hospitality are the very best I have experienced. Couple this to the fine seventeenth century building and its well-kept grounds make any stay a unique experience. My wife and I enjoyed every moment and really did not want to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Adrian and Mark. If you are looking for a getaway that is elegant, peaceful and quiet you will not be disappointed.
