After waiting nearly a year for a refund from our wedding, we finally received it today. Thankfully they now have a new manager who listens and takes action. This is a huge step from the previous manager. It is a lovely venue, and unfortunately that was ruined for us by the lack of communication from previous management. I'm sure this would not happen now.

Not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but I doubt I'd stay here again until some money is pumped into it. To note: we did book last minute so I'm sure we were given one of their lesser rooms. The grounds are truly gorgeous and it's one of the most aesthetically pleasing hotels I've ever seen, and the lake you can sit alongside to watch the wildlife and have a drink is great. Sadly, the rooms themselves let it down. Whilst I see hotel rooms as a locker you sleep in, the lack of workable/reachable plugs, generic chips and abrasions everywhere, alongside some very noisy cleaning staff

Just a beautiful little find. I was lucky enough to visit during a hot weekend which only highlighted the pretty views. The hotel is nestled in trees with a lake behind which my room overlooked. The old part of the hotel held so much history and I enjoyed staying in a character room. My friends stayed in the newer part of the building which was clean and spacious but I preferred my room! I will definitely be back.

Amazing stay, we were lucky enough to stay in the oldest part of the hotel which was absolutely beautiful. There was a wedding on and we were still made to feel like top priority. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and the restaurant was a lovely environment to sit in. The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Will be staying here again in the future. It was 5 star service catering and accommodation. Fully fully recommend.

We read some pretty awfull reviews about this hotel. However upon arrival we were so surprised to find that there was nothing at all to worry about. The room was clean tidy and in good repair, staff were very pleasant and the food was excellent we had the steak and was cooked perfectly. Some very small dated stains o the wall of the room due to water ingress but nothing of concern. All I all a very nice hotel and historic building. Star rating 9/10
