We know it can be a distressing time and unless you have previous experience, few people know exactly what to do when someone dies. When a death occurs in a hospital, the nurses and doctors will advise you if the death certificate is going to be issued. If for certain reasons it's not issued immediately you can still contact us and we start discussing provisional funeral arrangements.
When someone dies a death certificate (Medical Certificate of cause of death) (form 11) is issued either by either the deceased's GP, Hospital Doctor or Procurator Fiscal/ Pathologist. Once you are in possession of this you need to register the death. Provisional funeral arrangements can be discussed prior to the death certificate being issued, so please contact us at your earliest convenience.

My sincere thanks to Robbie and his team for helping the family through my dad's funeral. We all appreciated his compassion and professionalism. He helped us negotiate the complexities of a funeral under covid restrictions to provide the send off we wanted. Highly recommended.
