Services
Over the 25 years I have worked as a counsellor I have done many sessions online by Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp, FaceTime or Duo. Presently due to social distancing I am now only doing online counselling. If you work with me when social distancing ends you can continue with online counselling or see me face to face in Leamington Spa if you prefer.
Whether we like it or not there are times when we all struggle with a variety of personal issues, challenges and dilemmas, which if not addressed effectively can have a negative impact on how we choose to live our lives. These problems could be preventing us from being as effective as we would like to be and as a result we are unable to move forward in our lives.
At some point most normal couple relationships enter a phase of conflict or stress. Frequently these issues are sorted out and the relationship progresses or returns to its normal state. Sometimes however, when the issues cannot be resolved, you may find that your relationship escalates into anger and resentment, avoidance of the core issues, sadness, emptiness or a lack of hope for the future.
I am Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As such I adhere to their guidelines for good practice. What is said between us is confidential and only in exceptional circumstances will this agreement be broken. What constitutes these circumstances will generally be if I suspect that there is a high risk of serious harm to either yourself or others.
Sessions are usually carried out once a week or every other week. Sometimes less regular sessions are appropriate dependent on circumstance. We can either book a fixed number of sessions, say six and agree to work within that number of sessions or we work on what's called a rolling basis. This involves booking four sessions for example and then reviewing the situation.

I have had counselling over the years, and until I met Maria hadn't had more than a few sessions at various times in my life as I thought all was ok, only to find myself stuck again. I found Maria's counselling site and decided to give it a go. At the time I could barely leave the house, but now I'm back at work. I have been seeing Maria regularly for 6 months, and although I have a long way to go, she is helping me look at things differently.
