Hillside Pre-School has been open since 1993 and is set in the grounds of Hillside First School in the town of Verwood, Dorset. The pre-school is committee-run and the curriculum is led by our experienced Manager and our Early Years Teacher. It has an excellent reputation within the community and is known for its caring and qualified practitioners and high staff/child ratio.
The setting also accommodates a Breakfast Club and an After School club for Hillside First School and pre-school children - ensuring wraparound care for families. Our aim is to ensure that everyone is welcome and every child's individual needs will be acknowledged and met. We will learn from each other and respect all views and cultures.

Services
Breakfast Club - The Pre-school runs a successful and thriving Breakfast Club for Hillside First School and Hillside Pre-school children. Children can arrive between 7.45 am and 8.15 am, and will then be taken to their classroom at the designated time. The After School Club is open from 3pm until 6pm Monday to Thursday and 3pm until 5pm on Fridays, at the cost of 4.50 per hour.

When my son started, he was petrified. He cried every single drop off, and it absolutely broke my heart! The girls at Hillside showed their immense patience, kindness and outstanding experience with shy, nervous children. Before long Logan began to calm when he was left, join in activities, make friends and slowly I could see his confidence grow.
… Fast forward a year, and a LOT of input, and encouragement from Hillside, and he now runs through the gate.. forgetting to even say goodbye to me!! He enjoys every single second of Pre School, and can't wait to go back the next day. He has learnt

Wonderful pre-school! Amazing teachers🤗Best pre-school in the area. I only wish I had signed up my son earlier than I did as he has learned so much whilst since he started pre-school. The children do something different , fun and educational every day and get amazing support from everyone. Their approach to all the children is amazing and nothing is too much trouble. You could just see how happy everyone is from teachers to children and parents. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. ❤️❤️❤️

From the beginning, Hillside Preschool have been outstanding. Both of my children have thoroughly enjoyed their time here and were very sad to leave. The success of the preschool is down to the hard work and dedication of all the staff; they always go that step further and I have been amazed at what the children have achieved and experienced.
The communication is excellent and the support we received at a difficult family time was above and beyond. The staff truly care and this shines through effortlessly.

Both my boys and soon my daughter have /will attend Hillside pre school. It has been an incredible setting for the boys especially my eldest who was very shy when he first started. He is now a very confident 11year old and I think that foundation of confidence was built at Hillside. All the staff are fantastic, classroom time is organised, fun and varied and they also spend a lot of time outdoors. My children loved it and I have not one negative comment about the school.
