We strongly recommend all children have their eyes tested before they start school at the age of four and at least once a year thereafter. All children's tests are free under the NHS as well as a range of spectacles if needed. Jane has endeavoured to keep the personal touch, knowing and retaining patients from the very early days such that they have become friends. The practice has continued to develop over the years, keeping up-to-date with new equipment and ideas. In the last 12 months we have had new computer testing equipment and a refit in the front of the practice giving it a new cleaner look.

I have used Jane Barker for the first time, and I'm extremely impressed with how I was welcomed and how my eye test was done, I stepped in without an appointment and was treated as an emergency, Jane returned from an appointment of her own and seen to me straight away! What a lovely Lady, my test was very expertly done, my 2 pairs of spectacles were ready and waiting for me within 4 days, the quality is impeccable and my frames fit so well I don't even realise I'm wearing them! I have always in the past used another well know optician, but have never really been satisfied with anything there! But

I got a new set of Frames with Lenses from Jane Barker Opticians and I am incredibly pleased with both the quality of the lenses, the frame and the service that was provided.
The service has certainly very high quality and the staff there were very knowledgable and helped out with making some crucial choices for my glasses based on my heavy use of computers.
All in all I highly recommend them, and I would certainly use them again for my glasses needs!
