Torry Hill Farm
The Torry Hill estate is surrounded by beautiful orchards, arable ground and over 1,000 acres of Kentish chestnut woodland, from which we produce and sell a range of chestnut fencing, using traditional chestnut coppicing methods. We produce high quality, cost-effective chestnut pale fencing, chestnut gates, cleft post and rail fencing, chestnut stakes, bollards, chestnut posts and chestnut panel fence - all from our woodland.

Our range of products is suitable for businesses looking for attractive, sustainable fencing options. Chestnut fencing is naturally tough and long lasting, with an attractive rustic look, suitable for homes and businesses alike.

Torry Hill Chestnut Fencing is a wholesale manufacturer of fencing products. The Torry Hill estate is surrounded by beautiful orchards, arable ground and over 1,000 acres of Kentish chestnut woodland, from which we produce and sell a range of chestnut fencing, using traditional chestnut coppicing methods.
Torry Hill Chestnut Fencing is a vertically integrated business. This means that we have control of all processes, from growing the timber (see Our Woods), through harvesting and processing (see Processing), to manufacture and dispatch of fencing products. This enables us to control quality at every stage of the process from forest to delivery.
The Torry Hill Estate and its chestnut woods have been owned and managed by the same family for over a century. Most of the wood, which extend to about 800 acres are surrounded by the North Downs near Sittingbourne, with further acreage located at Teston, just to the west of Maidstone.

The continuity of ownership has meant that the wood has been managed and improved in a consistent way and now provides a reliable source of high quality wood for the Torry Hill Chestnut Fencing business. The chestnut woods on the North Downs are mostly ancient, semi-natural woodlands, with sheets of bluebells in the spring.
Chestnut pale fencing is our principal product, and we have the capacity to make up to 15 kilometres of pale fencing a week. A chestnut paling fence is strong, durable and difficult to climb over, it will last for many years and is repairable if damaged. Quick to erect, it makes a versatile temporary or permanent fence, which can easily be moved, re-used or taken down and stored.
We supply substantial and durable chestnut fencing posts, designed for post and wire fencing, in lengths from 1m to 3m, and with top diameters from 5cm up to 25cm. Chestnut fence posts are available with the bark on or off, with points or blank as required. Chestnut posts are available either as full rounds, cut from individual coppice poles, or as cleft posts.
