Corinium Museum
The Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester, the 'Capital of the Cotswolds'. Our principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium, today known as Cirencester. However, the museum today is much more than that, taking you on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day.

Explore the light and modern galleries that offer you an exceptional interactive experience. Discover thousands of objects on display, from Prehistoric tools, Roman mosaics, Anglo Saxon grave goods to Medieval sculpture! Every object has a story to tell. Corinium Museum experts share in the excitement of discovering and identifying archaeological finds, narrated by actor Ben Miller.

An incredible museum! Definitely worth the visit. Interesting and engaging exhibits. There’s something for everyone - even if someone in your group isn’t a fan of museums. There’s an excellent gift shop. Also, be sure to check out Jack’s next door for great cakes!

Fab museum. Well worth a visit. Thought we'd finish it really quickly but we spent nearly 3 hours there. Goes from bronze age throught to more recent times. Lots of info about the exhibits and the social history too. Well laid out with arrows to follow. Will definitely visit again.

An excellent museum. Full of fascinating and imaginatively displayed exhibits. The murals are magnificent and again well presented. Interpretation is excellent and never too overwhelming or dense.
The more hands on material is thoughtful and fun.
If you're visiting Cirencester (Corinium)
a visit to this museum is a must.

A lovely museum, well laid out (especially the newer building) with a surprising amount of quality exhibits for what is essentially a small town. We spent far longer in here than we had expected given the relatively modest entrance fee and left happier and better informed!

Very good museum on the Romans in Britain. Not too big, not too small. Kids loved it but also very informative. Well worth a visit - especially if it's raining.

Much more is here than the humble facade would suggest. There are many gorgeous mosaics, tombstones, artifacts and jewelry from the Roman era when Corinium (Cirencester) was second only to London in size.

There were also exhibits about earlier settlements and subsequent Anglo-Saxon and revolutionary era events.

Very child friendly. Helpful knowledgable staff. Small shop, a cafe and clean bathrooms.

For us - as foreign tourists, I think think this museum really gives you a feel for the great scope of history in these isles. Cirencester is not a terribly large town, yet it has history

Around £6 gets you access to a wide variety of Roman artifacts. This venue is not small and time well spent. One of the best stops we made during our frequent trips to the area.

Brilliantly done. Went before it was expanded, and it was rather humdrum, but this is now a must when visiting Cirencester. It's council-run, but you'd never think it.

Staff approachable and knowledgeable. Currently £4.50 per adult, which is good value compared to similar elsewhere.

A very child friendly museum with lots of interactive stuff to do. The main emphasis is on the Romans because of the local history. Lots of fascinating displays including Roman dining room and kitchen and some great mosaics. The gift shop is Ok but not fantastic. There's a cafe next door where you can buy coffee or lunch.

This is a quirky structure on the edge of town, but in wasy walking distance of it. This is worth a look at if youre interested in penal history and how troublesome people were dealt with in the past. Recommended for a quick look at. It lies close to Cotswold District Councils offices.
