Acupuncture Colchester
This is one of the fundamental concepts in Traditional Acupuncture, pain & discomfort can show up in many ways & in a wide range of conditions. Patterns of signs & symptoms, both explained & unexplained, are the sorts of information that can help an acupuncturist make sense of what is going on with you & guide them to the correct treatment principle for you.

The British Acupuncture Council, of which I am a member, has a website that has a number of fact sheets, review papers & research with balanced research information relating to a range of conditions that may be helped by acupuncture including fertility, menopause, insomnia, asthma & seasonal allergy to name a few.
Services
Acupuncture is part of a system of oriental healthcare that uses the concepts of yin & yang in diagnosis & treatment. It has documentary evidence going back over 2000 years and further evidence for centuries before that, yet it is also able to deal with very modern complaints e.g. Stress related conditions.
Diagnosis of your personal condition is made through observation, palpation and consultation. The first consultation will take details of your current complaint, when it started, what makes it better or worse and what, if any, treatment you have been having. Your past medical history, as well as details of any current medication you are taking is taken into account.
You will need to wear comfortable, loose clothing so that points in the abdominal area and around the knees and elbows are accessible. It is helpful if no perfumed products are worn. For an initial consultation and treatment it is best to allow up to 90-120mins - a prior phone consultation can help to reduce this.
After my initial studies at university I went to India. It was there that I first became immersed in meditation & changed my name to Rupesh. Whilst working in the bakery of an ashram, and later the woodcraft workshop, I discovered the delight of working with my hands. Having returned to England I started to learn Shiatsu massage and the concepts of yin & yang.
Would you like to make an appointment with me or do you have a question about a specific problem? Please get in touch - I look forward to helping you! Opening times: Treatments are by appointment only. I am available for appointments from 8am on Tuesdays & Fridays in Halstead where I also offer early evening appointments on Thursday.
