Services
When we bought the Kirklands Hotel in 2007, it was a rustic 17th Century coaching Inn but the interiors were very dated and in need of some love and so the project began. In 2007 we did an overhaul of the Bar, Restaurant and ground floor modernising the interiors but keeping in touch with the buildings history.
Our restaurant offers a dining experience based on high quality food, drink and service in stylish surroundings. Our menu which changes seasonally uses fresh local produce all prepared in house by our team of skilled chefs. We pride ourselves on knowledgeable but friendly service and our waiting staff are always on hand to help with a query or recommendation.
By day, the bar is the perfect place to while away the afternoon meeting with friends or simply relaxing with the papers over a freshly brewed coffee and homemade pastry. By night the bar becomes the ideal place to enjoy a pre dinner cocktail or glass of wine from our extensive drinks list. Or for those looking for a taste of Scotland we carry a fine range of malts and cask ales.
The Kirklands Hotel boasts eight ensuite bedrooms. With a good mix of double, twin and family rooms the Kirklands can meet all your accommodation needs. A full Scottish breakfast is included in the cost of your stay. All rooms are comfortable and well appointed with LCD free sat television, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

There's much to like about the Kirklands, the extremely helpful staff in particular. But there's just the sense that it's found it difficult to make the investment to keep pace, refresh and move up to very good. Room was fine, decent size with comfortable twin beds, but the single-glazed windows need some TLC. Shower presure was weak. Breakfast was good, though limited cereal choice. It's a shame, for every "really good", there's a "but ..."

My boyfriend and I needed a room to stay overnight before we had to drive 4 hours north to meet with friends the next day. We were very fortunate to have come across this hotel. The service was lovely. The staff was very friendly and greeted us with a smile (you could tell they were smiling even while wearing masks). Not only was the staff was so inviting and the atmosphere and décor of the hotel was clean and neat, but the food was amazing. While my boyfriend was sleeping shortly after arriving there I went down stairs to see what they had to offer for food. The server recommended me with some
