Big Sky Lodges
Big Sky is a family run business set on a traditional 17 acre croft in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Three meadows grazed by Highland cattle and horses and surrounded by traditional dry stone dykes, natural birch woodland and forest. Big Sky is the place for escape, peace and birdsong.

Ideally situated on the iconic North Coast 500 and just ten miles north of Inverness, we are in the perfect location to explore the whole of Northern Scotland.Ideal for families and hillwalkers alike, each of our places provides the perfect base to get out and explore the majesty of Scotland and return home to a cosy evening by the wood burner.
Services
Situated right at the end of the drive, Eagle lodge offers the most seclusion of all our lodges and has easy access into beautiful Spittal Wood. The cosy cabin sleeps six in one king size bed and four twins. Wonderful for crisp winter walks, or spotting red squirrels, pine martins and the resident roe deer.
The Hideaway at Big Sky is a cosy and colourful retro caravan with handmade and vintage details. It's nestled amongst the trees, with a very light and bright living room with a woodburning stove, TV and lots of books and DVD's. It has a snug double bedroom, a shower room with complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels, and a compact and handy kitchen.
We've come up with a few extras to make your stay at Big Sky Lodges extra special! Please check out our Additional Services page for details on the starter packs, breakfast packs, local seasonal veg boxes, Champagne and chocolates, local beer selection, and other treats we can arrange to have waiting for you in your lodge!
Big Sky Lodges is a family run business which offers six warm and cosy log cabins in the Highlands of Scotland, each one unique with plenty of homely touches to make it a special place. We offer our guests plenty of privacy but if you need us we are only a phone call away. Included in the price of rental is all linen, towels, electricity, oil central heating, logs for the stove and normal cleaning at the end of your stay.
Listed below are some of our favourite local attractions within easy reach of Big Sky Holiday Lodges; also ideally situated for trips to the West: Isle of Skye - Inverewe Gardens - and Ullapool, without the inconvenience of actually staying there (rain, midges). A visit to the Glen Ord Distillery is not to be missed.

Fantastic time spent with my daughter. Beautiful peaceful location and seeing the Kites over a morning cup of tea on the balcony was priceless. There is nothing more the hosts could do to make it more perfect. Highly recommended

Just home after our second holiday this year at Big Sky Lodges. Perfect location for a quiet, peaceful break. Accommodation clean with all amenities e.g. washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, selection of… DVDs and board games. Ideal base for exploring all the Black Isle and beyond has to offer. Missing the heilan coos, barn swallows, robins, rabbits and red kites already - not forgetting the fire pit, BBQ and log fire.

We had a fabulous holiday at Big Sky, the lodge exceeded our expectations and it was a fantastic base for our week away. We travelled near and far, fantastic walking, waterfalls with salmon leaping, beaches, lochs, good food and Minger cheese! Many evenings spent next to the fire pit, exploring the woods and enjoying family time.

I am 52 years old and this lodge is the first time in my life I’ve returned to the same place. Honestly, it’s that good. Accommodation and facilities in the lodge are super, the setting is so peaceful and the people that run the setup so so nice. I came here in summer 2020, am here again now, and would recommend it to anyone.

Wooden lodges for weekly hire just outside Muir Of Ord near Inverness. Well equipped and cosy lodges sleeping up to 6. Ideally located for Highlands and day trips around north of Scotland.

There aren't words to properly explain what a stay at this place does for the soul. In a week we've rested & explored in equal amounts. We feel like we've been away for weeks! Such a wonderful way to support a family business, getting an excellent & memorable holiday in return. The proprietors are kind & thoughtful- always there if you need any suggestion how to spend your time & will leave you alone if you would rather. Heaven on earth really - sad to have left those views behind

We stayed in the Hideaway, which is the wee caravan at the side of the lodges. It was a wee AirBnB number, and i have to say it was gorgeous. Very private and sweet. The wood burning stove was a gorgeous touch which made the nights cosy. 20 minutes from Inverness city centre where there are plenty of places to eat. Highly recommend.

Still currently staying here, 10.6.19. Its kind of remote but inverness is a 12 minute drive. Muir of ord (very small village) is less than 10 minute drive away. Perfect for peace and quiet and Highland Coos on the doorstep 😯❤👍

Great place for some decent peace and quiet. Went for a week and we stayed in pipers lodge. Unfortunately we had to leave before our week was up! Nothing to do with Big Sky Lodges though. 12 min drive to… Inverness and also muir of ord has a chippy and a very good bakery. Oh the Highland Coos were ace. The whole family couldn't get enough of them! Woods for a good walk about at the bottom of the path was great too. Definitely be back 😊.

We have just left today having spent Christmas at the lodge. lovely welcome hamper and Xmas tree in the lodge. Lots of little touches throughout that make all the difference and make it feel like home. Eagle Lodge is the end lodge and you get the feeling your miles from anyone even though your neighbours are close. Well planned out place. Would definitely stay again. The Wooff and Jones family

Loved this place. The lodge was very comfortable and had everything we needed. View was lovely and we found the site very peaceful and had a very relaxing stay there. Close to Inverness (and closer to Dingwall) which was very handy. Used it as a base to tackle the (absolutely terrifying) Applecross section of the NC 500, which worked well, but wish I'd taken it for the whole week so I could have spent more time just relaxing there. Recommended.

Lovely cabin in middle of nowhere but close to Inverness 20mins in car or muir of ord 6 mins in car. Great to get away from it all and just have family time. Cabins are great and really comfortable. It may be - 3 outside but we are all toasty and warm in the log cabin playing board games and watching TV.

Lovely lodges, everything you need and a log fire for cosy nights in. Is so quiet yet only a short drive from Inverness. A great place to base yourself as you explore the amazing highlands.
