A feeling of anxiety every day without knowing what it relates to is called "free floating anxiety". You might find yourself feeling irritable, frustrated, less patience, increased consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and a change of eating habits. Anxiety and stress can manifest itself in many ways: nervousness; panic attacks; insomnia, overly worrying about something that may never happen, etc.
Take a deep breath. When you start to feel anxious, try to concentrate on breathing correctly. Try slowly inhaling to a count of 4 filling your belly first then the chest, gently holding your breath to a count of 4 and slowly exhaling to a count of 4, repeat several times. Proper breathing is essential to reducing sudden feelings of anxiety.

I came to see Christine for help with a phobia of wasps. This phobia controlled my life and made me dread the summer months. I was so scared that I would wish to be put into a coma until August and September had finished(!!) and it ruined a 2 week holiday I went on last August. With Christine's help, I am now relatively indifferent to wasps. I no longer particularly care about their presence except for the fact that they're a nuisance, but I am no longer scared. Christine approaches new clients with a calm and understanding attitude that makes you feel immediately at ease. Her explanation into the human psyche is extremely helpful and detailed. Each session I attended went extremely well, the breathing techniques as well as the positive outlook I was guided towards has helped me every day since.

I contacted Christine when I was facing surgery for cancer. Apart from the diagnosis itself, I felt anxious because I had had a bad experience with previous surgeries and wanted to see if hypnotherapy might help with recovery and state of mind post-surgery. I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions each week with Christine and I was made to feel very comfortable and welcome. She was a great listener and focused on subjects that I was struggling with through hypnotherapy and homework each week. I have seen CBT and hypnotherapists in the past but have definitely found Christine the best. I would recommend her to anyone.

I went to Christine almost 12 weeks ago now to stop smoking. I had one 2hr session during which I was made very comfortable. Despite the current stresses of life in Covid lockdown, I have neither smoked, nor had more than a passing urge to smoke in that time. Christine also prepares you for when you do have a cigarette craving through very easy breathing exercises. I smoked for 34 years and have tried to give up on occasions but have never gone this long. And I can honestly say it has been so easy!

I honestly cannot thank Christine enough for everything she has helped me with, and so much more. And If anyone had told me that hypnotherapy over Zoom would work, I am the first to admit, I was extremely sceptical, and didn’t think for one minute that I would be able to go into a relaxed state...let alone through Zoom. I have just completed a course of treatment for a phobia of spiders at The Beardwood Practice. Following my initial free consultation, I had four weekly sessions with Christine at her lovely studio.
