A further mile down the farm track are the 4 Haunn Cottages. Choose one of the unique blackhouses (Middle, East, West, Shieling) - which are perfect for a couple. Toechtamhor sits in its own garden, and comfortably sleeps 4 (but can sleep 5). As we live on the farm, the cottages are managed on-site by us and our valued housekeepers.
We quite literally stumbled upon Treshnish: we had no map, no guidebook. It was in the summer of 1988. We were struck by a sense that we were stepping back in time as we walked down the track and it felt magical - unspoiled and untarnished. As we walked we actually said to each other - wouldn't it be amazing to live somewhere like this?!
Come and discover Mull, this beautiful island. The Phone Room, located in the farm square, has a wealth of books, maps and information for you to use while you are here. We may be biased but we think our location on this part of the island is really special. We are almost an hour's drive from the ferry terminal at Craignure, and 50 minutes from the colourful capital Tobermory. As you will read in the individual descriptions of the cottages the 4 Treshnish Cottages are half a mile from the main road.

I have come with my family for 6 years and I came here as a child myself. We have always stayed in west or shian and the cottages are cosy with stunning views in a great location. As we go in the summer, the sunset is late and you get stunning views of the sky while eating your dinner outside. It a great contrast to the city we live in and the only downside is that we love it so much we are so sad to leave each year!

We've been staying at Treshnish since I was a very young child and I've always loved it there. We usually stay in either Duill or Shian and they're both lovely cottages; the bedrooms, bathrooms and the (fairly) new 'sitoutary' are all great.
Also, it's not just a place for sleeping and eating: if you're up for it, the tracks are great for a short hike. We even saw some otters at one of the beaches this year!
And, for those who can't live without their Twitter feed, there is a room for Wi-Fi and calling people.
I almost forgot! You get the most amazing views out to sea! (+ about 200 sunset photos

We have absolutely loved our 2 week stay in Toechtamhor. Nestled into the hillside there are sumptuous views morning, noon and night.
Have even spotted pair of Golden Eagles from the garden. Those newly purchased binoculars for this trip have been the Best Buy in a long time.
You know somewhere is really special when you meet other people staying in cottages who've been coming for 25 years. I can see why. It is truly special.
