Happy Landings is first and foremost an animal shelter. We have a council licensed boarding facility for dogs and cats which helps to pay for the welfare work. The charity owns the 5 acre site, and is a mixed animal shelter, taking in various types of animals. We are unable to take exotics. The centre can take approximately 300 domestic and farm animals, and we re-home about 300 animals a year plus several hundred ex battery hens.
The team of staff and volunteers offer shelter and hope. Happy Landings works with Dog wardens, Vets, Police, Social Services and other shelters. We are full at all times and have to work on a waiting list system with the demand for rescue spaces being very high. Many animals have to be nursed back to health and more have to be re-habilitated before carefully chosen, loving homes are found.

Please check out this amazing download written by lisa tenzin-dolma of the iscp on adopting rescue dogs. Our kennels are always full of dogs looking for homes. When we re-home a dog we then take in another dog needing a new home. We never know what breed, age, etc of dogs needing to go on our waiting list.
Working with Danish Design Happy Landings is pleased to announce our very own Happy Landings dogs bed made from recycled fibre and fully washable. Here at Danish Design we've been working our paws off - designing and producing fabulous bedding for dogs and cats for more than 30 years, in the beautiful heart of Yorkshire.
Josera's daily activities are always focused on our responsibilities towards the environment, nature, animals, our fellow human beings and future generations. We have therefore consolidated all aspects of sustainability - economy, ecology and humanity - into one specific goal: to be completely climate-neutral by 2020.
Unlike other boarding kennels and catteries, all the income from the boarding section of Happy Landings goes towards funding the valuable animal rescue work undertaken. It is our main source of funding, so you're not only boarding your animal, but helping contribute to the rescue and care of other animals less fortunate than your own.
If you would like to make a donation then it would be greatly appreciated. We have many rescue dogs in kennels with sensitive tummies especially ones who have been with us a while. They need sensitive, additive free food. I know a lot of people are really kind and donate items on a regular basis so we are appealing for people to subsscribe to get a bag of JWB sent to us regularly.

Always had excellent service. Everyone is friendly, helpful and courteous. Our dogs love it there and always look like our dogs when we collect them. We have collected them from other places in the past and not recognised our own animals. All the staff are so accommodating on the phone and in person. You may a short wait but that is because they are so busy with boarders and in house animals. I'd give 5 stars every time.

Happy Landings has been the best rescue I've communicated with. They were very real, knowing the dog well and having lots to share so we could make the right decision, and always accomodating to our schedule. All our meetings were outside for are sensible about COVID. The actual adoption process was very quick and they even gave us some of the dogs things to help him settle in. I would definitely recommend adopting a dog from Happy Landings.

Happy Landings were called into our village recently to help and recapture a poor dog who had been traumatised by a previous owner and had run away when being transferred. Wow what a service they provide, regular up dates of what was happening, advise to the general public given and staying out 24/7 in all weathers to capture this poor dog, which they did successfully at 2am in the morning on the 5th day of the dog being missing. The dog is now being cared for by Happy Landings and under vets as really poorly from her previous life and being on the run. I cannot thank them enough for the service
