Services
Founded in 1884, Moffat Golf Club originated as a 9-hole course high in the hills of Moffat. The movement for the present course then began by the Towns Improvements Committee, where they struggled to find suitable land near the town to build the course. Happily the difference was solved by Sir William Younger, Bart, of Auchen Castle who gave the club a lease of Coats Hill on generous terms.

Leave the A74(M) at Junction 15 (signposted for Moffat). Follow the A701 towards the town of Moffat, and after a mile lookout for the golf course sign on your left. Follow the road up the hill and bear left up the road being careful for golfers on the first tee on your right as you approach the clubhouse.
From the spacious lounge you have a clear view of the 1st tee and 18th green framed within panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the charming town of Moffat. Full catering is available daily during the peak season April to September, when meals and snacks may be taken in the lounge or adjacent dining room.
Our 9th Hole - Port Arthur - is the Golf Clubs signature hole. This short par 3 requires a blind shot over a high rock face to a hidden green, and the changeable strength and direction of wind can make or break your score. View from the 18th Tee Don't believe you have witnessed the best hole on the course until you visit the our last hole: a driveable par-4 with breathtaking panoramic views.
