The hotel looks amazing inside as it's very stylish and modern, even outside it loos great as it shows historical architecture - lovely place!
I and my friend were so lucky to find and book at this wonderful hotel during the late-night as they had limited spaces available however I had been well informed by hotel staff to make a visit to get a room so we did.
The staff at the hotel are very welcoming, friendly and kind with smiles on their faces so they do make others feel happy at this hotel for sure as well we had a very great room in a style that was stylish and comfortable for staying- great

Paid over £300 (!!) for one night stay. The room was like a shoe box, toilet right next to the head of the bed. Hear everything going on between all 4 walls, including whenever water used or toilet flushed. They have a switch board right on top of where you sleep which illuminates the room making it incredibly difficult to sleep.
Front desk didn’t help carry bags, said they couldn’t even help call me a cab. Expect that for a budget hotel, but for over £300 for one night.. what a joke. Worst experience ever.

Booked a standard double room and this is quite simply the smallest hotel room I’ve stayed in, in the last 30 years. I’m travelling solo but can’t imagine what this would’ve been like sharing with another person…
Also the room has an air conditioning unit which makes tons of noise, even when switched off. It’s November, in London…

Small rooms but nice and convenient. WiFi is good.
The breakfast is very basic (a bacon or egg role, or a croissant) so give that a miss and go to the Grind or Serata down the road.

Clean, all the amenities and friendly staff. But I’m afraid this doesn’t make up for failing to disclose my room was in the basement right above a Tube line. Main success factor for a hotel is a good night’s sleep. I didn’t get that sadly.
@Z Hotel, please be transparent on things like this, they matter.

Do NOT stay here!
The staff was friendly and the hotel clean, but it had serious drawback:
* The rooms are small sticky chambers, some don't have even a window and in those that have one, it cannot be opened for fresh air.
* Being there for one week business travel, my room has not been made up once, even though I was told its going to happen.
* The flatiron they gave me was already burned at the iron surface, so I could forget ironing my shirts in the morning.
* No table in the room to work, so one would need to sit in the entrance hall with the laptop.
* The breakfast is so tiny (one hot

Z hotels are perfect for super short stays. This one has a much better cafe next to reception with ports for charging. As usual the rooms are modern, wooden floors and clean. Helpful, super friendly staff. Would stay here again.

Amazing location, fun staff with an easygoing vibe. Hotel is modern (and also smells great, they must be using some kind of parfume), and so is the room. Was small (which everyone is aware at the booking) but immaculate and very modern, perfect for a work trip. Only thing I missed was a real desk to work at, there would have been space for it in my room. Bed was comfy and had a quiet sleep, no complaints. Since I was travelling alone I didn't care, but the toilet snd bathroom are only separated by a frosted glass, so there might be some scenarios when someone could be bothered by that. Looked great

Beautiful hotel and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are quaint and immaculate. Really good for business travel. We were travelling with a small baby and the staff were very accommodating in getting us in and out. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location and staff were friendly enough. Glass of wine was average price for the area, shame a 12.5% service charge was added and nothing verbally was mentioned. No wine/ cheese Friday . Room was a bit pokey but clean and comfortable enough. To be honest, without the wine and cheese, it was a bit over priced for what you get compared to other budget brands.

After a 12 hour flight delay, I arrived at the Z Hotel hoping to be able to rest for just an hour or so. I knew there was no way I'd be getting my money back for the room I didn't use, but hoped I could get a late check out.

The manager was going to charge me $35 to stay an extra hour (I had already paid around $150 for my room that I didn't sleep in). When I asked them to waive the fee due to the circumstances they said no.

So, I went to my room for the half hour I still had left on my reservation to shower quickly knowing I had to be out by 12pm otherwise they would charge

Mixed bag for the Z Hotel! It's a 3.5 star really - lots of really good points and a few not so great points, but overall, if you're wanting to stay in a good location in London for a very reasonable price, not expecting too many frills, this one could be for you!

So.

Good Things:
- Wine & Cheese hour - every day. Free cheese. And wine. (should really just stop this review here!)
- Cheap (seriously good rates)
- Location (Old St, Shoreditch, and all their pubs, cafes, restaurants. De-lish)
- Teeny tiny rooms but everything is in it's place.
- Unreal hair dryer - better than

I often stay here when I'm in London for work, I really love the feel of this place. It's small and personable which is what you're looking for if you're traveling on your own. The staff and incredibly friendly and helpful. Don't come here if you're expecting a big hotel room though, the Z chain of hotels is unique in that all their rooms are compact in size with all your basic amenities close by. This is not for everyone, however I really admire the way they've utilized the space and what he rooms lack in size they make up for it in comfort. The beds are very

Hugely Disappointing Lack of Customer Service and Flexibility:
Have stayed at this hotel a number of times in last 6 weeks and planned to stay there on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future for work. Having pre-booked a room for next week a family incident has meant I unfortunately have to cancel. I was informed that despite my previous stays and future planned stays that a full room cancellation would be collected and could not be transferred to another date. I have never known such a lack of flexibility from a hotel in 20 years of travelling on business to London. Be very careful when reserving

Yes! I just changed from staying at an AirBnB apartment in a small room to staying at this fantastic hotel! And although I was too early, they still managed to find a room for me, that was already made-up.

But oh, it's rather loud in here. From the loud air-con making funny noises to the people running along in the hallway outside to the phones ringing in the room next door, its definitely not for people who need their perfect peace and quite to sleep.

Yes! The bathroom is a modern, stylish box thing made of glass, that has everything you need, perfectly small to fit into this tiny room

A modern and clean hotel in a good location.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and I did enjoy the included breakfast a lot.

When it comes to my room, things get a little less wow. First of all it was so tiny, I had so sit on the bed or enter the bathroom, to be able to close the door.
Anyways this didn't bother me too much, my suitcase did just fit in and I didn't come to London to stay in my hotel room all day, so.. :-)

Still, it was freezing cold in the room, and setting the aircon to 25 degrees did not help. I felt like it made the room cool down even more(?!). TV is huuuge though

I must say I was pleasantly pleased when i arrived after work I got a very warm greeting and was offered a drink while I was waiting to book in. Booking in was effortless and I had my room key with minutes. Before going to drop off my bags I was asked to come and enjoy a glass of wine and some cheese. Wow very nice as much wine and cheese great selection and variety of cheese. a few glasses of wine later I was lets just say doing some work was the least of my worries.. On that note I have to say the wifi was

After finding myself in Shoreditch and in need of a last minute and affordable room I ended up at the Z Hotel.

It's conveniently located, close to the Old Street tube station. I was in very early in the morning and friendly staff happily took my bags until I was ready to check-in later that evening.

This place definitely compact; the reception area is pretty minimal and the rooms don't have much space beyond the bed. I was given a complimentary upgrade on my Inside Queen room upon arrival to one with a window which was a pleasant surprise. Although they are small it's hard to fault

The z hotel is in what only can be described as a prime location near old street tube. The whole place has an ultra modern and high end finish from the minute you walk in with a beautiful reception area and stunning breakfast room.

The hotel staff were some of the friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. Even upon arrival I was offered not one but two drinks...a coffee and a hot mulled cider. This to me is a serious win win situation.

The rooms here are compact but well designed meaning I did not miss the extra space you get in other places. All of the finishes in the rooms

First I need to put a perspective on this hotel. The rooms are small. If you don't like small rooms or if you are expecting a big room you will be disappointed in the size of the room. With that said, if you come with this expectation then you will love this hotel.

It is a model of modern efficiency. They do away with a lot of the things the big hotel chains cling too. It is designed with affordability in mind without being cheap or low quality.

The staff is friendly, professional and abundant.

The breakfast is good, with a nice selection of options. They also have a happy hour for

I was into it. They started off well by telling me I'd been upgraded to the family room -- I'm not sure what that means, or why I was chosen for greatness, but I was into it. Who doesn't want a room that has the grandest form of bunkbed you could imagine? Although my plan to switch beds in the middle of the night didn't happen (if only I'd stayed two nights) I've got to say that the cubby king bed at the bottom was a cave of comforts. Loved that I could roll over and switch the kettle on in the morning and loved the TV within the den.

Other notes include an impeccable

We were STUNNED by the level of service at Z hotel, our first point of contact Sandra checked bags early, amazingly described the amenities, and shared a heartfelt description of the optional breakfast. It was literally the best check in process at a hotel ever- and after 18 hours of travel it was so welcome. Now the good- the room is small but super slick and modern, and for the price, it's a screaming deal. If you want a sexy place, and you're okay with small, this is your spot. If that's all you're looking for it's a square deal, but then they hit you with the free wine

This hotel was great, though before booking you should be aware that it features teeny tiny rooms! I have travelled most of Europe and this is the smallest I've ever seen. Really only room for carry on luggage and even then it needs to go under the bed. If you are ok with this I would highly recommend it. It is new and features modern design and a large flatscreen tv. Despite the compact size of the room it has everything you need. Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly. Location in Shoreditch was excellent as there were several coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants nearby as well as

A tremendous bargain in London. Yes, the rooms are small, but well laid out. Decent free wifi is included and there's a very nice flat screen tv with numerous channels. Also, a bottle of mineral water and a kettle for coffee or tea.

The continental breakfast was quite good, with a coffee machine, a selection of juices and sparkling water, as well as pastries and breads. There's also a stand with free umbrellas to use.

The hotel is very close to the old street tube line, which I found easy to use to connect to the rest of London. There's also a drugstore, cash machine, and several

Z Hotel know the score - I really enjoyed my recent visit which was fairly whistle stop but it was an experience I'm keen to shout about and would recommend to friends looking for a fairly budget (if that's not an oxymoron) hotel in the hipster Old Street/Shoreditch area of London.

Here's some top tips.

1. Even though I was 2 hours early my room was ready so they let me in - nice bonus points for them there!
2. Wifi was quick and easy to use with no password.
3. Staff were very friendly
4. Breakfast provided was a really good continental spread with great fresh fruit and croissants
