Geoff is from a varied background in the industry. Having started out on the construction side as a QS in Essex, and then moving to east London Local Authorities to gain experience in the Public Sector where he qualified as RICS, Chartered Building Surveyor. Keen to get back into the private sector, he joined a professional mixed practice of Building Surveyors, Valuers and Architects based in Fleet Streetin the City of London.
This is where he fell in love with the City and its buildings, history, street pattern and diversity. As a Practice, Cooch & Associates have been lucky enough to count the following as their regular Clients; the largest commercial Bank in the UK, the most prestigious Local Authority of them all and the most dynamic and forward looking East End Local Authority.

Services
We have extensive experience of providing Design, Construction Management and Contract Administration for our clients. The following case studies indicate some of our recent completed projects. We act as Principal Designer under the definition in The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Acting for the Landlord, we were asked to prepare a terminal Schedule of Dilapidations on this building which had suffered from severe cut end corrosion to the roofing panels as well as extensive alterations internally. A full schedule was prepared and negotiations ensued with the outgoing tenant following which a full refurbishment was undertaken utilsiing the settlement.
Emergency works to stabilise dangerous loose brickwork. Four storeys of brickwork starting at 5th floor level over a lower open plan office area staffed by call centre staff. The wall was constructed off shelf brackets without cavity ties - a potentially life threatening situation. We provided initial survey review, advice, investigative works which provide information for us to provide a detailed specification for repairs.
Following a fire in the 5th floor of this office building near to the Monument in the City of London, we were asked to prepare a scope of work for the full reinstatement of the damaged space by the City Surveyor's Department.
Acting as Project Manager, Cost Consultant/QS and Principal Designer we assembled a professional team and, working with the Client and the Loss Adjusters led the project through the processes of decontamination and reinstatement.A challenging site on a narrow street in this historic area of the City, the project had to be delivered in a multi-user building with noise and access restrictions.
