Moat Barn Nursery School is located within a converted Barn and specialist designed buildings set amongst farmland. My name is Amanda Pheasant and I own Moat Barn Nursery School. I live in the barn on site with my four children. I have worked within childcare for over 15 years in various settings and have managed nurseries from 50 places right up to 190 places. By working with my team across all ages of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum we at Moat Barn Nursery can provide an education that is rich, rewarding and stimulating.
At Moat Barn we aim to build a partnership with parents aiding us to work together to create a positive impact on your children's development and learning, This is the basis for the key person system which is in place within all rooms, each child will have a main carer who will build a bond with your children and a rapport with you as parents.
The baby room caters for children aged from birth through to 24 months or when we feel the children are ready to progress to the next room. Within the room we have a room leader and staff with specific age related experience. The room works along the staff ratio of 1:3.
We will endeavour to follow the same routine that you as a parent have established in the home environment and will actively look to work in partnership with parents to achieve this.We have our own sleep area within the nursery with cots for the children to sleep in. the children have there own bedding which is fresh every day.

This new purpose built room is light and spacious and can cater for up to 20 children aged from 22mths - 36mths, depending on each child's individual needs. The staffing ratio for this area will be 1 adult to 4 children or 1 adult to 3 children depending on the age of the children. The room manager has completed her level 4 and all other staff within that room have suitable training and qualifications.
The Oaks room provides two large free flow rooms where your child can access play equipment which is divided into the six areas of learning to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. This acts to provide a stimulating environment allowing free flow access to activities and equipment around their interests whilst encouraging learning through play.

My son started in September (aged 9 months) and the staff in Seedlings are just wonderful. His key worker (Georgia) made the transition into nursery so easy, and he settled from day one. Even when Georgia isn’t in, the other staff all know about my son and he is shown so much love. They always do a number of activities, and the staff are often singing with the children! Just a lovely nursery that I couldn’t recommend enough.

My son started Pre school at Moat Barn a year ago and Wow what a fabulous nursery school. Having Senco issues he has needed a lot of additional help. I could not be more thankful for the ongoing support to myself and my son from Amanda, Tina, Tracy, Amy and all the staff. The outside spaces and Forest schools are fabulous and have been so… beneficial to Kaiden’s needs. The activities on offer help to provide such a perfect environment for learning and development. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. My daughter is very shy and I was so worried about her being happy at any nursery. The staff have been absolutely fabulous at helping her settle in. It’s a slow process but not once have they made me feel like she’s being difficult, they have made her so welcome and completely understood her ways and habits. They do so much with the children and really help them learn and grow. I cannot imagine her going anywhere half as good as this place!!

With Arian soon to leave Moat Barn, I just wanted to get in touch and say thank you to you and all the staff for making his time at nursery so fun, educational and happy.
The nursery is in such a beautiful setting and offers so much… that other nurseries don’t. Arian has had a really well-rounded experience – we love the fact he’s been able to take part in things like forest schools, French lessons and phonics. His swimming lessons in particular have been fantastic

I can't praise moat barn nursery enough , the staff are Wonderful , they made leaving my daughter so much easier . It's honestly everything you could want in a nursery , there outdoor space is just incredible. And the fact they have animals is so cool !! My daughter has absolutely loved going here , I recommend to all my friends as I feel like I'm the luckiest mummy that my daughter goes to such a great place. Thank you moat barn !
