Orchard Design is a bespoke upholstery business that manufactures 'to order' high quality upholstery. With over 50 year's experience, Orchard Design is owned and managed by Eddie Rooney. Orchard Design prides itself on the skill of its craftsmen in all aspects of furniture making, from the traditional joinery of its frame makers through to all kinds of fabric cutting and sewing expertise and, of course, an unrivalled understanding of upholstery.

We have a wide range of traditional & modern sofas to choose from. We offer a 'made to order' service whereby you can chose your preferred model and fabric, and we will provide you with a quality finished product. We have an extensive range of Classic, Contempory and Leather models to choose from. If you have an existing sofa and would like to recover it, we can provide you with a wide choice of fabrics to choose from.
Our extensive fabric collection comprises over 300 of the finest quality fabrics which is sourced internationally from the best mills around the world. Our fabrics are hand cut, pattern matched and upholstered, and each piece of furniture is made to your exact specification, so any model can be finished in any suitable fabrics from our collection.

Took delivery of our new corner suite and foot stool today. My first time using Orchard after a friend highly recommended them. The sofa is amazing, unbelievable quality don’t think I will buy a sofa from anywhere else now! Well priced for custom made, solid frame sofa finished in velvet! Eddie and his team are lovely no hard selling just straight to the point and get you what you want! Highly recommend! Thanks guys we are delighted.

I had a sofa and 2 chairs which were looking tired and worn. Having looked in the shops I realised that to replace them was going to cost a fortune. Eddie at Orchard was recommended so I got a quote (which was very resonable) and came home with fabric sample books. Deciding on the fabric was the hardest part. The furniture was collected and returned in less than a week and I must say I'm absolutely delighted with the result. The sofa has been transformed and modernised with new pine feet and an armchair upholstered in tartan looks like something from me and s only better. The recliner and footstool

I bought 2 sofas and a winged chair from Orchard 23 years ago. I was delighted with quality. I thought it was time to have it recovered and I contacted Eddie. The problem he gave me was too much choice. The fabrics were top quality and beautiful. When I made my decision Eddie had the suite picked up and returned in one week. I knew I could expect high quality workmanship but I really hadn't expected to feel so pleased. The sofas and chair were recovered to a very high standard down to the smallest detail. A lovely bonus I hadn't expected was 7 gorgeous matching cushions. I could highly recommend

Absoultely useless service. Took our sofa and fabric happy to do the job but very shortly after we got it back it unraveled at the seams. Aside from being very difficult to get hold of, he reassured us it could be fixed when he did eventually come out then we heard nothing more from him. When following this up he seemed far more interested in fobbing me off with excuses than actually working to fix the problem. Presumably having had over a month to figure out said excuses he had plenty at his disposal, one of which being that it was or fault for buying the fabric elsewhere even though he was happy
