Erawan is delighted to bring you the authentic savoury flavours of genuine Thai Cuisine. Delicious mouth-watering and authentic Thai dishes that innovatively combine sweet, spicy, salty and sour tastes. Erawan (Thai: xerawan, from Pali Eravana, or Sanskrit Airavana) is the Thai name of Airavata. It is depicted as a huge elephant with either three or sometimes thirty-three heads which are often shown with more than two tusks.
Some statues show the Hindu god Indra riding on Erawan. Elephants have played an important part in Thailand's history and today the Thai elephant (chang Thai, ) remains as an enduring symbol of Thailand. When we create a dish for you at Erewan, we bring to your table our authentic traditional culinary & cultural influences - as represented by the elephant image - combined with modern-day standards of service, style and presentation.

I should say that Thai isn't a first choice cuisine for me, but if I find more places like this, it could move up the rankings. The food tasted fresh and was a decent price with portions that were filling, but not too big. The pricing structure was pleasingly straightforward too.
They are unlicensed, but allow you to bring your own, subject to a corkage charge (there is a wine merchant next door that sells beer as well, but think Waitrose rather than Threshers)

I've ben to Thailand on several occasions and eaten in many different thai restaurants the World over snd this place fits into what I'd call 'a typical English Thai place' . Suspicions were raised that they had a very small restaurant with 49 different items on the menu, my experience is that with a menu that size you are immediately on the back foot as a restaurant to deliver that much variation.
We ordered 3x starters , a tom Kha and 1 main, a drunkard curry.
Lets break it down. First they brought l the food at once, forgivable I guess but the to be told we'd asked for that when we hadn't was

Genuinely the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten in the UK. The red curry was perfectly flavoured with nuanced spicing, as well as being perfectly balanced with coconut and a little fresh fruit. The pricing was excellent, the service was super friendly and the packaging was biodegradable. I really don’t know how Erawan could be better :) x

Beautiful !!
Ordered a takeaway from here and everything was really nice, I wish I had of found this place sooner as I would have ordered from here more often, couldn’t fault it!
had the chicken satay, vegetable tempura, chicken pad Thai, beef massaman, coconut rice. Food came in card boxes rather than plastic which I think is great. Everything was hot and had lovely flavour, ingredients seemed to be fresh and nothing was too oily. Everything had a lovely flavour I’d order from here again anyday!

This is a small, inevitably crowded restaurant so have patience and get there early if you can. That said, the food could hardly be faulted - it's better than many a so-called Thai restaurant in East Sussex. There are photos to show their style. We enjoyed the food, and the wine from next door (Erawan is a BYO restaurant), not to mention its proximity to Lewes railway station. Two of us ate Thai duck, Vegetable Tempura, Red Thai Curry and Pad Thai, in no particular order (see the photos). The main downside was two 'jack-in-a-box' women crowding us by non-step texting, even whilst
