Ashcroft Farmhouse
Derek and Elizabeth have been running their Bed & Breakfast business for over 50 years and still love it as much as they did when they first began providing accommodation for paying guests. The multi-award winning Ashcroft Farmhouse is a ranch style farmhouse built in 1993 to replace the old farmhouse next door, and was a finalist in the AA Friendliest B & B Award? for 2012.

In 2014 Elizabeth was named West Lothian's Businesswoman of he Year and Derek 's beautriful garden won Business Garden of the year for many years in West Lothian too. Sadly Derek passed away in 2020.

The room was extremely tidy clean and tidy, the host was warm and very hospitable. I was advised on locations for entertainment and food, and made to feel really welcome. The food was excellent with homemade sausages and the price was very acceptable, I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

I always stay here when visiting the East Calder area on business. Elizabeth is an owner who really cares for her customers' wellbeing during your stay. There's a good pub (The Grapes: 5 minutes walk) and excellent restaurant (La Vita Viva: 15-20 minutes) close by so you don't really need to use the car once you've arrived. There's also a lovely park within 5 minutes as well to walk off the evening meal!

WE would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. We had a lovely stay, having delicious breakfasts with plenty of choice. Really sets you up for the day to explore the area. Good connections to Edinburgh by park and ride. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with a nice lounge to relax in and take your morning coffee. Beautiful garden to sit and relax in after a busy day. Elizabeth and Derek made us feel very welcome and not feeling like strangers. Very relaxed atmosphere and Derek loves a chat. Look at all there awards they have between them for different interests.
Thank you for a lovely
