Our newly built deluxe accommodation provides the ideal place for a relaxing getaway. In the summertime our garden provides a tranquil environment whilst during the winter months our open fire is an irresistible magnet.

We have recently built 6 deluxe rooms with countryside views whilst still retaining our original 3 standard rooms above the pub this gives us a mix of standard and deluxe rooms for you to enjoy. Our location means you are in the perfect place to explore the Essex countryside or visit the many places of interest that surround us.

Gift Vouchers Report

Perfect present idea for friends and family, our gift vouchers can be brought to a value of your choosing and sent to or collected by you, they can also be posted directly to the recipient, together with a personal message. Gift vouchers can be redeemed against Bed and Breakfast rooms, food or drink.

Good food and beer, they should stock some beers from the Red fox brewery as they're really good and only 200 meters from the pub! Ale that was on was served well and in good condition.

Very friendly place . The food was good , apart from the mash , which was from a packet. It would have been five stars without that.

Bland and boring, my pie and chips arrived at the table, no veg, then just as I’d finished my meal, 2 bowls of veg turned up. #pointless. The 2 stars were for the pretty garden! And the smell of urine where the cakes were displayed wasn’t appealing.

For a local roadside pub the welcome was very warm,food reasonable and well served. Plenty of it to.
Can't fault it.
Well done.
Has accommodation if you need it.

Small but clean room. Situated on a very busy road, so very noisy if you like to sleep with windows open. Polite helpful staff and very nice breakfast.

Lovely food. very rustic pub but lovely garden even though you could hear traffic noise. however we had to go sit inside as gardener has come to cut grass and we could not hear ourself talk. just a polite word to say it was his day would have saved us sitting outside.

I collected two roast dinners today. I phoned in advance and the lady I spoke to was lovely! The food was excellent! We will definitely be getting roast dinner on a Sunday again!

Fantastic meal, good hospitality, made to feel very welcome, even brought me a blanket as we had to sit outside in line with government guidelines. We also had a look at their new rooms that have just been added to the establishment, very tastefully decorated with amazing views. We can't wait to return and even stay the night.
