At Topsham House Day Nursery our staff have always been our greatest asset. They are chosen for their integrity of character, enthusiasm and a sincere wish to care for and guide your child. We achieve the high standards we have set ourselves through vigorous selection procedures and training programmes.
Topsham House based in 'Desford, Leicestershire', has been a fundamental provider of childcare and education since 1996. Recognising a need for quality childcare and early years provision within the surrounding area, the nursery was opened by former Primary School Teacher, Susan Maxted. The last 25 years have been dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and early years education.
Most simply, pedagogy is about how we educate children and promote their development using techniques and strategies to provide opportunities for each individuals learning and how our relationships and interactions with children can affect them. Every child is unique, they are constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
We provide children with a healthy and well-balanced diet from an early age. All meals are prepared on the premises by our catering staff. As a Leicestershire County Council 'Healthy Tots' accredited setting since 2018, we aim to create a culture and environment that promotes health and wellbeing. We focus on healthy eating as well as emotional health well-being and physical activity.
A deposit of one month's fees must be paid to secure a place. 50% is due when the place is reserved and the balance when the child starts at nursery. If the place at nursery is not taken up, then the deposit is non-refundable. After the nursery place is taken up, the full deposit is refundable following one month's written notice to terminate the place.
