Services
We have thriving Men and Ladies sections and newcomers always find the club to be informal and friendly with many opportunities to meet and play with fellow members. We have designed our fee structure to encourage the younger male and female players to take up and play golf. In fact membership of our Junior section is free.
A warm welcome always awaits visitors and guests from our Professional Mark Davies and in the clubhouse from our Steward, Dean Richardson. Mark runs the Pro-Shop and is available for teaching all ages and abilities, either individually or in groups. Weather permitting we have a fleet of buggies for hire.
Established in 1892, Ilfracombe Golf Club has retained much of its uniqueness. Just to give you a little taster of what an amazing course awaits you, we've asked Peter Alliss to talk you through each hole. So why not grab a nice drink of something, sit back, relax and watch our stunning flyover videos.
The videos outline they key changes to the World Handicap System. Each video gives a short, but detailed explanation of a key feature of the new system and is designed to help golf clubs get up to scratch. These videos also provide Ilfracombe Golf Club with a set of tools to use in the education of our members.
In addition to usual club competitions we have a number of thriving membership sections each with their own dedicated regular bookings. Currently these are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Whenever possible we will try to accommodate the visiting golfer. The Club hosts a number of competitions open to visiting club golfers of all genders, ages and abilities; and for many years have provided great golfing value to many from far and wide.

The pluses.
Considering the time of year, excellent greens and well presented course in tough weather. Some great views. A thorough welcome and friendly hospitable clubhouse. A return course for a calm summers day.
The minuses
The closing hole and exit path desperately spoils the closing experience/ last impressions. But for some well placed landscaping, segregated/ screened dumping ground/smouldering fire digger zone would help give paying customers a sense of respect and enjoyment. The showers are a pitiful dribble which when you come in cold and wet is not much fun.

Played at this wonderful course twice over the weekend, day one we played in 35mph winds so as you can imagine our golf was nearly as horrific at the weather. Day two though really showed the course in the light it deserves. A challenging course with very interesting par 3s, stunning views and immaculate greens. Overall I would highly recommend Ilfracombe golf club and would definitely return.
