Geoffrey Butler Cycles has had its origins as a cycle store in the Croydon area for 60 years. For the last 40 years the business has been under the same management and has grown from a local bike shop to an internationally known company. Always dedicated to every aspect of cycling Geoffrey Butlers has everything the everyday rider, commuter, tourist and Professional/Amateur racer needs.
We have experienced sales people, mechanics and wheel-builder with an in-depth knowledge of everything cycle associated, and pride ourselves on the service we provide. In 2016, after 50 plus years at our 15 South End address, we moved down the road (1.5 mile) to 429 Brighton Road. The new shop offering a larger floor space, and the ability to display a full range of bike styles, MTB, Hybrid, Road, TT, and folding.

Sadly our premises in South Croydon is now closed for good. However our two experienced mechanics Ben and Pete are still alive, well and fixing bikes! Based and working from Chaldon, Surrey. This great cycle repair service is based in Burgess Hill, Sussex and by joining forces with Lee, we make a great duo able to carry out any repair, service, upgrade or custom build for you.

How will my items be delivered? All items delivered to a UK address will be despatched using Royal Mail 48hr, Royal Mail 48hr Tracked, and A to Z courier.
We regret to inform you that Geoffrey Butler Cycles Ltd South Croydon store is closed. The decision to close down the shop was not an easy one, and we were hoping to give people more notice. Very poor service and disappointing after such great service in the past. Sad to see that they had decided to close the store after so long, but happy that they had decided to continue trading on line. I ordered some brake pads from them on line, but immediately realised I ordered the wrong ones. Emailed them to cancel the order as they did not have the pads I needed on line, but no response. The pads arrived and I have then tried numerous times to contact them by phone and email but to no avail. Shame they have decided to hide behind the internet and not recognise their responsibility as an on

They rescued my beloved 1970s Claude Butler (no relation) after nearly all it’s parts got stolen in Croydon (pro tip: don’t lock your bike up on the high street overnight). For years, I thought my poor Claude was a lost cause, and he sat brakeless and handlebarless, shivering in my shed. Not an easy fix, I thought he would never ride again, and I almost sent him to scrap.
But quarantine inspiration had me bring Claude in to Geoffrey Butler last week (which I had been a loyal customer to a over decade ago, but I thought

My road bike recently developed a hairline crack on part of the frame. I purchased the bike from GB a few years ago and took it back for their opinion. They contacted the manufacturer on my behalf, which ultimately ended up as a warranty claim. The cracked part was replaced and refitted under warranty. I have to say I couldn't be happier with the service from Steve and the team. I'm delighted that I have my bike back, which is as good as new now and the whole process was dealt with fantastically.Top marks, keep up the good work!

I picked up a new Frame recently and got all the parts for my Dream Bike. Called GB Cycles to build it for me. Booked in for Thursday build and was ready to pick up dead on time, Big thanks to Ben the Mechanic who even called me to double check on me requirements mid-build and who did an awesome job for me. I could not be happier

The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, and also honest. I have bought a fair amount of kit and had repairs done there and can highly recommend. On the one occasion I had a problem they took the item back and after investigating refunded my money. My last purchase was a Trek e-bike for my wife which she absolutely loves.

I can thoroughly recommend this bike shop and its staff to provide knowledgeable and useful assistance and advice, together with excellent after-sales service. I have returned several times for the bike to be adjusted. This has been carried out swiftly and professionally, so I would not take my bike anywhere else for work to be carried out.
