I previously owned Canine Barbers Dog Grooming Salon before progressing to open Tendring Dog Grooming Training Academy. I have 14 years teaching experience which I gained through teaching dog grooming courses at Otley College, these courses were very successful with a high pass rate.

Services
Stand alone treatment (no grooming, just bathed and dried) 15 for short haired dogs and 20 for long haired dogs. Our New CO2 Skin Therapy is applied during the bath and is helping pets everywhere with issues like dandruff, hotspots, yeast, tick/flea bites, odour, itchiness, poor hair growth, yeasty feet, and overall cleanliness for skin and coat.
Once the items have left our premises, the responsibily of the safe return of the items lies with the postal service. Blade sharpening is a skill, it takes a huge amount of practice and experience to accurately sharpen a wide range of different blades, scissors and knives. Please can we ask you politely When dropping blade off on the run, Please make sure your Contact Name and number are with any blades you leave for sharpening.
At our brand new training academy we are super proud to be offering training for people whether you are wanting to gain a nationally recognised qualification to enable to start a new career in dog grooming, or our shorter in house diploma courses of simple basics of pet grooming, Tendring Dog Grooming Training Academy is a great place to achieve your goals.
After teaching Dog Grooming for a number of years, I have firm and practiced methods of the best way of learning the trade. It is more or less based on 90% practical experience, with a small amount of theory work covered. At all times there will be a maximum of four students, so very much a highly focused method of one to one tuition is given.
The Open College Network Level 3 Dog Grooming Certificate Qualification is Nationally Accredited & Ofqual Regulated. The qualification will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that you have the necessary technical skills and knowledge to successfully groom a variety of dogs. This is a formal, regulated, nationally recognized qualification that will remain relevant throughout your career.

I am currently coming towards the end of my course and ready to take my exam. As a student to teacher Steph has been brilliant, she has pushed me to the best of my ability and shown that she really cares about her work and wants nothing more than for her students to be the best they can be and pushes us to the best we can be! I have been using Steph (Tendring Dog Grooming) for my cocker Spaniel for a few years now. Tess is happy going in, I don't feel like I am having to drag her into appointments, which shows she feels happy and content whilst there and her cut is always how I ask it to be.
More recently we asked Steph about her dental programme. Tess is a very loving dog but her breathe was more than questionable, I rarely write reviews, but I wasn't sure if it would work but it was try this or a visit to the vets. I have been taking my mini Schnauzer cross to Tendring Dog Grooming Academy for more than 6 years and I wouldn’t take him anywhere else. Although he is not the best behaved while being groomed, Steph manages to handle him. He goes in scruffy wagging his tail and comes out looking tidy, smelling sweet and tail is still wagging happily. I couldn’t ask for more.

I have been using Tendring Dog Grooming Academy for almost ten years for my Westie, Rosie. I have always found the Grooming Parlour professional, friendly and very kind to the dogs. I have been extremely pleased in the way Stephanie has dealt with my dog throughout the years, offering different services and advice if necessary. Rosie always emerges from the premises looking happy, well clipped and groomed.

What a great day. Sam has the patience of a saint and is so good with her students (canine and human). She is obviously committed to ensuring that dog grooming is fun but done in a 'professional' way even for someone like myself who just wanted to know what to do for their own dog. Whilst adhering to health & safety in her premises she does not let that interfere with being relaxed and working comfortably. I am a student at Tendring Dog Grooming Training Academy doing the City and Guilds level 2 dog grooming course. I am loving the course, I groom every day that I am there, it's very hands on! Steph is such a brilliant and patient teacher who really cares and wants you to be the best you can. I started with no experience and I am learning some great skills and techniques every day.
