Naturally leavened loaves, slow fermented and baked to perfection, our breads are available for you to enjoy every single day.

Services
The Flour Pot Bakery grew out of the Founder Oliver Hyde's commitment to all things artisanal and delicious in food. Years working as a chef and running a high-end catering business refined his understanding of the importance of quality ingredients to the fundamentals of great cookery. With that in mind, Oli recognised that making the best bread is the ultimate demonstration of the craft of food preparation and production.
We take the same approach to serving the finest coffee as we do to our lovingly created bread, cakes and viennoiserie. This journey starts with the producers and the ethical sourcing of green coffee beans, through to expert roasting of our carefully developed flavour profile and onto our highly skilled and passionate baristas to do their magic.
The Flour Pot's team of talented Bakers are true craftspeople, passionate about all aspects of bread and viennoiserie. Our Bakers source the best stone milled flour, English sea salt and speciality butter for perfectly balanced loaves and pastries created with the utmost integrity. Our sourdough breads are made using a traditional slow fermentation method that combines the humblest ingredients.
This store is located in the heart of a wonderful community, filled with many other independently owned stores, lots of families and a hugely busy bread trade. Our outside space is the perfect place to while away your afternoon, with your flat white or jasmine tea and watch the world go by. Just give us 48 hours to prepare your fresh items and pick a day for collection.
Our first venture outside of central Brighton saw us locating to First Avenue, just off of Church Road in the heart of the business and residential area of Hove. We have so much space and light in this bright and breezy store, plus a great terrace for those early mornings. We are always busy with families, local business people and all the nearby fitness groups, with something for everyone to enjoy, to eat in or takeaway.

Very good sandwiches, tons of vegeterian and vegan options;
Although sandwiches aren't made to-order, so expect very few pre-made ones to be available past afternoon

We were there with a friend two weeks ago, and the experience was underwhelming to say the least. It's a very small and crammed place, yet there was no heating, so it was cold. Two doors were constantly kept open, and a fat fly was buzzing around - to my dismay, no one from the staff cared to remove it even though it's a clear health hazard.
The place is also very overpriced - spent well over £10 for two americanos and two very small pastries (these same pastries cost about £1 in all major grocery stores, so for the inflated price I paid I expected some good quality pastries, but unfortunately

The Flour Pot bakeries are great and this location is my favourite. Friendly staff and quick service. I like that you can buy presliced bread. Excellent sandwiches and I really like the choc chip cookies.

Always a pleasant experience. Limited table space inside and a few tables on the outside. Food in offer is usually a great matchup to the drinks they offer. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is an absolute banger. Take out and eat it as you window shop

The coffee and pastry were great but I couldnt hear what the cashier said because I have a hearing difficulty and masks make it difficult for me to read lips so stood in maybe the wrong place and then the barrista basically shoved the my coffee at me. I really don't like complaining but had heard good things about this place and was really disappointed by the unfriendly and dismissive staff and I'm a waitress so I know that people can have bad days.

Very disappointing tuna and red Leicester toasie - hardly any filling. Shame as the bread was very nice but not worth £6

Good environment and friendly staff. Despite of a serving error (gave us a ice latte instead of an oat latte), staff quickly resolved the issue.
Food is not exceptional but is definitely above average. Coffees can be a bit stronger (though this is a bit subjective).

Great little cafe on the corner of a bustling street. Ice vanilla latte was standard, refreshing on a hot summer day. Cinnamon bun was unlike most, crunchy on the outside with an almost croissant like texture.

Pork sausage pasty for £2.3 is a good snack that will fill you up. The place is really cute and have lovely outdoor seatings. Price overall for coffee is cheaper than most coffee shop in the area.

Very good bread!! But please go early because the nice sandwiches get sold out early! We were lucky to have reached at about 12pm and had access to the full menu. The bread sells out really quickly and I am not sure if they replenish the stock. Recommends the sourdough with sundried tomato, as well as, mushroom and cheese combinations!

I love The Flour Pot Bakery! When you walk in you have the most beautiful display of delicious looking pastries, cakes and bread - You will want to eat it all!

The interior is sophisticated yet cosy and it's almost quite a airy, rustic feel. I ordered a warmed giant slice of pizza, a hot chocolate and a sparkling elderflower. The hot chocolate was just right, not too sickly and had a beautiful design on the top.

The service is great and the staff are so friendly and efficient!

Just an overall wonderful place! I can't wait to go back and try more! :)

Yay Flourpot bakery! I'm a little late to the party when it comes to these guys, however having been been a big fan of their deli on Jubilee Street I thought I knew it was time to try this one out.

When you walk in you are greeted by an array of delicious looking breads, sandwiches and cakes. I went for a flat white with a mushroom and chorizo flatbread. It was a dream! The flat white was made to perfection and the flatbread filled the lunch-sized hole in my belly. I ended up staying for quite a while as I had to get some work done - This meant I just HAD to try a slice of the polenta, lemon

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I love this place so much.

It is the cosiest, friendliest little coffee shop with great pastries and cakes.

Sandwiches are a little pricey, but I would pay for them just for the service. I don't go a place twice if the staff are useless. I go here about 3 times a week. That says everything. Eddie is lovely, and the young French girl is the best (she helps me practice my French when I get shy and I appreciate that). Its personal service, everyone is the loveliest and the bakery is unreal. Oh, the Gluten Free bread is great too

My sister took me here two months ago before I moved to Brighton. I was living in a boring retirement town where paninis were exotic for cafe menus and when I tried the coffee here, it was the final push I needed to move to Brighton. This place literally made me move house to be closer to it.

I'm always a fan of a place that bakes good bread. It's impossible to walk past somewhere with the smell of freshly cooked bread wafting out! I often pop in for a loaf of their sourdough which is delicious. I can also vouch for the focaccia and the sausage rolls, all really tasty.

Today, I ate in for the first time. There are only a few tables at the back but if you can get a seat, it's worth stopping for tea and cake. Today we tried the carrot cake and the polenta cake, both yummy. The staff are really friendly too, and the atmosphere is nice. There is just enough room to squeeze

Lovely and welcoming bakery in the North Lanes. Came in for tea and treats and we've been meaning to go back again. The treats were incredible! I got the shortbread and it was perfect alongside my hot tea. My friend got a slice of cake and that was equally as good. We walked out with a bread roll to go with dinner and it made the perfect garlic bread. Love this place

We generally love the small Artisan bakery with is eclectic design and great flavours .

However last week we bought 2 slices of Carrot cake which seemed small in fact they were 115 grams .....we had them before and they were quite delicious but a very different size.
Today we again bought 2 slices of the aforementioned cake and found their weight to be 211 grams.....this was more in keeping with other times we had bought from them.
It's very embarrassing to moan about a small slice in the shop .....after all what do you compare it to ?
What this means is that staff are all or partly unaware

Lovely North Laine local bakery and coffee shop. Enjoyed a very tasty coffee here, with water provided on a hot day, and had some delicious pizza too. The best thing is the location in a great shopping area with a lack of places to sit outside and watch the world go by. We sat in the afternoon sun doing a spot of people watching. It's a really good addition to this part of the Laines. I'm sure we'll be back many times.

Bread is my kryptonite, especially really good bread, so it's difficult to describe the mix of horror and ecstacy that washed over me as I spied this recent addition to the North Laines. I could see our torrid romance flash before my eyes -- I want you, but you're no good for me, oh my god you're amazing, oh my god I regret everything. And that's basically how it went down.

I walked in and immediately my mouth started ordering faster than my brain could moderate. I was already committed to a salt beef sandwich and a morroccan sausage roll before my senses kicked in and put

What a find - thank you Joy H! :D This place must have just cropped up out of nowhere as last time I walked by it was something entirely different, but I am very glad it's appeared!

Based in the bustling North Laines, The Flour Pot Bakery is simple and welcoming inside. It's tiny, for starters but the simplicity of the place is refreshing and all of the food looked fresh and beautiful! There was one small table and chairs inside, but the majority were set-up outside in the dappled sun. We sat outside with our coffees and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the surrounding streets.

The Flour Pot is a lovely new addition to the North Laines! The decor is simple and quaint inside. They also provide outdoor seating right in front of the shop so you can enjoy the sunshine with your drink and/or cake. The offer a variety snacks from gorgeous tarts to flat italian pizzas and also beautiful selection of bread.

The drink menu includes the usual hot drinks and also iced coffee. They have an attractive water dispenser infused with lemons and cucumber on the side which is definitely refreshing after a hot cuppa. The service is quick and friendly and they offer a frequent customer
