The Lay Of The Land Garden Centre
They say the best things come in small packages. Our family run garden centre located in the Yorkshire Dales town of Settle is no exception. Founded in spring 2012 by the Lay family, our little 'pocket' garden centre sells beautiful plants, pots, gifts and all sorts of other gardening related wares the discerning gardener might need.

We also have a caf / coffee shop with great coffee. The genus salvia is one of the widest in the plant family with over 900 species worldwide, and one species or another is native across almost two thirds of the planet, including here in the UK. Salvia are also known as sages, with common sage, Salvia officinalis, being probably the best well known species through culinary uses, albeit many people wouldn't know it as a salvia at all.

Amazing small garden centre with an excellent selection of plants all kept in good condition (unlike some other garden centres that we've visited). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Made two visits in the last week and will certainly return.

First class coffee and lovely food - outstanding polenta cake. A smart, modern cafe with a contemporary "industrial" feel. Great staff provide a lovely welcome. Highly recommended.

Teeny place but well stocked and orders discussed if you can't see what you want. They have a garden service and there is a lovely little cafe. One of the biggest and best BLT's ever! Nice selection of cakes too. Really knowledgeable about plants and planting. Impressed.
