Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel
Located in Rochester, Kent, The Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel is a traditional coaching inn over 400 years old. The present Inn is some four hundred years old, though it is believed that another Inn stood on the same site. The Royal Coat of Arms is still displayed over the entrance to the courtyard.

Perhaps the Hotel's greatest claim to fame though is through Charles Dickens. Dickens stayed here on many occasions and featured the Hotel in two of his most famous works "The Pickwick Papers" and "Great Expectations". Ideally located in the centre of Rochester, The Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel offers en suite accommodation, free wifi and private parking is possible.

This hotel has the charm you would expect from a Dickensian hotel. In fact it is the Boar hotel in one of his Dickens books. The hotel has tried to keep the hotel to the fact that Dickens stayed there, this is why the hotel is a little dated I think this just adds to the charm of Charles Dickens Rochester. The hotel is centrally sited on Rochester High Street right near the Castle and Cathedral. There is an array of shops restaurants and pubs and is also near the river. The hotel does not have a restaurant but to be honest it doesn't need one. It does have free parking which is a bonus. If you want

The staff are what makes this place great to stay at, couldn’t of been more helpful, even saved a parking space for us, the hotel however has seen its heyday, but that’s reflected in the room price. Just a shame more money couldn’t be spent on renovating it, as it doesn’t look like it’s been decorated since queen Victoria stayed. Bed was very comfy, the hotel needs to employ more cleaners as bathroom was in need of deep clean, as shower head had black mould on it.

Checked out after 1 night. Very low standard hotel. In desperate need of refurbishment. Didn't feel at all clean. Stay well clear of this place!

The hotel was a bit shabby, which would be fine if it was clean. The room smelt like feet and it was very dirty. The staff checking us in were nice, but didn’t see them much after. The bed was also falling apart and very uncomfortable and the room got SO HOT with only a very dirty fan to cool it down. I’ve stayed in some grim hostels before but this was the worst. Moved over to Premier Inn

Attentive and friendly staff.
Clean enough. The room has a kitchenette, kettle, huge refrigerator, microwave, slow cooker, hairdryer, fan, fumigator. In the common corridor there is an ironing board and iron.
There is a washing machine. But in the bathroom not a single outlet. But then an extension cord was found.
