We employ six members of staff and we also have a number of volunteers from the local community who enjoy coming to play with the children. We always have at least one member of staff to every 8 children over the age of 3 years and one member of staff to every 4 children under the age of 3 years present during each morning.
All staff members hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare, or above. Our manager is a Qualified Early Years Teacher and regular training courses are provided for all staff for their own Continued Professional Development.

Services
Each term you will receive a letter detailing the fees due. Fees are calculated on a termly basis and we are happy to accept payment termly, half termly, monthly or weekly. It is a great help to us if you can pay these fees promptly however, if you do have any concerns regarding payment of your fees please talk to a member of staff.
How does the early years setting know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have special educational needs or disabilities? At Rascals Pre-School Playgroup every child is allocated their own key person before starting at the setting. Settling in sessions, open mornings and regular contact with new families enables staff to form strong bonds not only with the child but with their family /carers.
Ofsted inspect our playgroup to ensure that we are conforming to their regulations and those of the Early Years Foundation Stage. All staff are vetted for their suitability and new members of staff must be approved by Ofsted before they are appointed. Ofsted also offer advice, training and support when it is needed.
We regularly seek feedback from our parents / carers through questionnaires, surveys, comment books and daily conversations. Here are a few quotes that brought a smile to our faces. This is the best pre-school in the area and the staff is amazing. The effort they take to get to know the children's individual needs and their personality is incredible.

My daughter has just finished an amazing 18 months with the wonderful team at Rascals. She's now off to school in September, and without the support of the team and her "fantastic" key-worker she wouldn't be where she is today. Claire has proved to be a kind, caring, thoughtful, patient and professional individual who my daughter adores. Claire and the rest of the team ensured Maisie's time at Rascals was nothing other than "the best". Feel so lucky to have found Rascals. Thank you for everything you have done. She will miss you for sure!
