Welcome to Balance-Rite Osteopathy Clinic, where we make a REAL difference to people's lives. Balance-Rite Osteopathy was established in 2004 and is a family run clinic, owned by Mark and Karen Brewer. As specialists in the Classical Osteopathic approach, this allows us to assess you as an individual and provide treatment aimed at your whole mechanical framework, not just the part that hurts!
We are not limited to using prescriptive techniques and exercises, instead we use 'hands-on' treatment to adjust and correct your whole structural mechanics, that are causing your symptoms to occur. The importance of this is shown in the following case study, where your symptoms may be caused by a completely different area of your body than where your pain is felt!

Services
Balance-Rite Osteopathy Clinic was established in 2003 after Mark and Karen Brewer completed their four year BSc degrees in Osteopathic Medicine at The Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine. Having gained registration with the General Osteopathic Council immediately on qualifying, they have been successfully treating patients ever since.
The initial assessment involves examining your whole musculo-skeletal framework for asymmetries, in both a macro-structural and micro-structural manner.
This short video, guides you through what to expect at your first assessment at our clinic, identifying the differences in our approach to assessment & treatment compared to that of all other osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists and manual therapists in Chertsey and the surrounding areas within Surrey. You will see actual photographs of patients before and after their treatment at our clinic.

At Balance-Rite Osteopathy Clinic we assess and treat using the whole body, Classical Osteopathic Approach, sometimes called 'The Body Adjustment'. We use this method because the human musculo-skeletal framework is made up of hundreds of separate parts (bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, nerves, blood vessels) which all need to be working together as one unit, for optimum functioning of the body as a whole.
At Balance-Rite Osteopathy we use traditional osteopathic practices to treat you. With these techniques we can effect the deeper structures of your body. Unlike massage which relaxes only the muscles that are accessible with the fingers, traditional osteopathic techniques are able to work on the deeper structures of the body; for example the joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves of the spine, that cannot be accessed by massage.
At Balance-Rite Osteopathy Clinic we treat pain arising from musculo-skeletal origin. This includes all joints and attaching soft-tissues of the body including the peripheral joints of the knees, elbows, shoulders, feet, and hands. Some of the more common conditions we treat are shown in the image below.

When I first visited Karen, which was about a year ago, I was in constant pain all down the right hand side of my body. She worked absolute wonders!
She always gives fantastic advice and suggests exercises to maintain in between sessions.
I have since returned, after a bike accident, and again her friendly, professional, expert care has been excellent. I can not recommend her enough!

I will never forget my first visit to Karen. I was very upset and depressed about a painful chronic condition of my jaw called TMJ. I had been searching for an effective treatment for many years without success. Karen was very compassionate and caring and gave me some hope. One and a half year down the line my pain has drastically reduced and I can lead a normal life again. She has produced miracles and I cannot thank her enough!

I’ve been treated by Karen of several occasions in the past few years. She is very attentive, skilled and highly educated. She was the first to tell me that I have hypermobility syndrome, which was later confirmed by a rheumatologist. Due to my condition I often suffer from joint pain, but after Karen’s treatments I feel energised and don’t have to take painkillers for months. She is a miracle worker, I can’t recommend her enough.
