Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Animal osteopathy (also known as veterinary osteopathy) is the name given to osteopathy when it is applied to animals. Animal osteopaths most commonly treat horses, dogs and cats. They also occasionally treat other household pets and farmyard animals. All animal osteopaths are fully qualified human osteopaths, have undertaken specialist post-graduate training in animal osteopathy and are registered with the general osteopathic council.
Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints and muscles), and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.
Our team treat a wide range of foot problems such as corns, calluses, in-growing toenails, verrucae's, fungal infections, ulcers, deformed nails and bio-mechanical problems. They all treat high risk patients such as diabetics, rheumatoid arthritic and immune suppressed patients. All practitioners hold certification for administering local anesthetic to carry out nail surgery, which is a permanent solution (95% of cases) for in-growing toenails.
Skilled hands work intuitively on muscles, tendons, facia and other soft tissues to promote healing. Using various techniques and pressures, The treatment will stimulate circulation of blood and lymph, break down fibrosis that binds or glues one muscle to another and relax muscle spasm and relieve pain.
