You've been living with your Back, Neck, Knee or Shoulder pain for months or even years but now it's stopping you walking the fells, playing with your kids or grandkids or affecting your work. You've waited weeks to get a GP appointment but you've been told you need to rest, take painkillers or come back in 6 weeks if you're no better.
Your partner, friends and family are tired of you going on about it and don't understand why you've not done anything about it. We hear variations of this story every day. We know that fear of making the wrong decision, scepticism about whether physiotherapy will work for me and uncertainty about where to turn to for help are factors that prevent you getting the help that you deserve.

Services
At Kendal Physio we understand that how pain and injury can affect your life and steal your identity whether is a runner who can't run or a parent or grandparent struggling to look after their child/grandchild. Our goal is to treat the cause of the injury and give you the confidence to be the person you want to be.
Richard graduated from Northumbria University in 2002 and worked for several years in the NHS in the North East before leaving to work and travel in Australia. On his return to the UK, Richard worked in several clinics in and around the Manchester area, specialising in Occupational Health and Sports Physiotherapy before joining Kendal Physiotherapy Centre back in 2010.
Physiotherapy helps people affected by injury, illness or disability through education, hands on manual techniques and exercise therapy. During your initial assessment your therapist will listen to your story and ask lots of questions to find out what symptoms your suffering with and how they affect your life.
Fed up with the same activities causing you pain? Do you wish you had more confidence in your body and how you move? Come along and join the hundreds of people like you that have benefited from our physio led, small group Pilates classes. All of our instructors at Kendal Physio are chartered Physiotherapists who have trained with APPI (The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute).
Our RunFit sessions are useful whether you are currently suffering with a niggle or if you are injury free and just want to run faster, for longer. Discuss your injury history, current training patterns and what you want to achieve with your running. Test the strength of the major muscle groups that you use whilst running to look for any weaknesses or side to side differences and to help establish a baseline.

John was brilliant from start to finish. Diagnosing my problem in an efficient way and giving me some exercises to calm it down and then develop long term strength to fix it. He has been friendly and used his expertise to help me. The practice were very efficient, communication was great and they are highly recommended.

Really great service at a convenient location in Kendal Town Centre. Was referred following a broken ankle and surgery. Really knowledgeable and great at explaining what was going on with my foot, Richard helped my recovery with sensible realistic and adaptable goals and exercises. Hopefully won't need to see another Physio but would 100% return to this practice if needed. Recommended.

I went for treatment for a painful knee, acting on the recommendation of a very satisfied former patient.
Despite the initial visit being during the C-19 lockdown, I was offered an early appointment. On arrival I found the reception staff to be friendly and professional.
At different times I was treated by both Richard and Olivia. Both were caring, attentive and friendly. My concerns were listened to, a thorough assessment undertaken and an initial set of exercises prescribed.
On my second visit, further assessments were made and the exercise programme tweaked.

Managed to strain my back weeding my garden and as an active climber, hill walker and cyclist was keen to get back in action quickly. John Bragge was very systematic in getting to grips with my injury and after some manipulation and providing me with an exercise/strengthening routine I'm now moving freely again. Recommended.

Came highly recommended by a fellow runner who’d also recently had a baby. Saw Mary for two sessions and over the course of those came up with a plan for returning to running after 14 months off. Exercises we’re emailed via an online portal which was excellent to use and very clear. I’m now feeling confident about safely returning to running after having my daughter.

I have used Kendal Physio & Well being centre before so didn't hesitate to go when I developed an irritating re occurring back pain I decided to get to the bottom of it. I am a fairly active late 50"s and feel that John Bagge listened well and worked with me to provide a good understanding of what was happening and a simple but effective exercise routine to help overcome it.
Always professional, friendly and efficient.Thank you

I have now completed a course of physio therapy with Mary Rowlinson, which I began in February, following a cycle accident last August. The physio was to help repair a fractured pelvis and wrenched shoulder. Mary spent considerable time discussing the nature of my injuries and following a detailed assessment of the limitations of my injuries, compiled a series of exercises for me. The were reviewed and revised as appropriate. I am now back to participating in a range of outdoor activities as before my accident. Throughout my treatment, Mary was very professional, friendly and helpful in directing

I went to Kendal Physio after experiencing problems with my thumb and wrist for about 8 weeks. I’d tried rest, You Tube video ‘fixes’ (which made it worse) and then decided it was time to stop wasting time and go to see a physio. Mary was great at pinpointing the problem and setting me up with a series of exercises to do at home. These had a rapid effect and I felt some marked improvement quite quickly, especially as regards pain management. The exercises were adapted and changed with each visit, to ensure a full movement range could be achieved by the end of the course of treatments. I found
