Founded in 1902, Stowmarket Golf Club has been on its present site in Finborough Park since 1962. It is a pretty parkland course set in the quiet and peaceful Suffolk countryside with much wildlife and lovely views. The renowned high-quality greens and varied holes suit both low and high handcappers looking for a challenging yet rewarding game on a well maintained layout with excellent practices facilities and grass driving area.

Services
Our friendly hospitality team is always on hand with a warm welcome to serve you with your choice of beverages and snacks. We maintain a quality bar which often features "guest ales", along with local beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. We also boast an impressive selection of gins. Most of the time, our Restaurant is open to non-members.
Founded in 1902, our first course consisted 8/9 holes on rented land, play being limited to winter months. The Club has occupied three sites during its 100 year plus history and celebrated its Golden Jubilee on the current site in 2013. Over recent years, as part of a 1/4 million investment we have constructed a 10 million litre reservoir, re-furbished the clubhouse, re-laid the car park and purchased significant course maintenance equipment.
Jon Markham has been head professional at Stowmarket Golf Club since 2012. Along with assistant professional Alex Davey and Jon's wife Gemma, this team provides a great product range of golf equipment and clothing in the pro shop. Jon and Alex also offer group coaching and individual golf lessons both outdoors using the club's extensive practice facilities and indoors in the purpose built, state of the art swing studio.
Stowmarket Golf Club is looking to recruit Hospitality Team Members to join our friendly club. We are looking for motivated individuals who are willing to work flexible hours during the week and weekends (it would therefore be helpful if you live within easy distance of the club). Training will be provided by the club on the use of the various online systems we use in the running of the club.

A delightful little 9 hole course which is situated with lovely countryside views.
Plenty of space with good open fairways and some wonderfully challenging holes.
Be wary this time of year the greens play fast and there are not many that are completely flat. Give it a try I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Exceptional service from the staff - all of whom know how to treat customers, whether it's a casual pint or full-on fine-dining. Eric is an excellent chef (ex-River Bistro, Stowmarket) and Sunday Roasts are a unique selling point. Likewise Amanda and her children - Grace and Will - plus ALL of the other restaurant/ bar staff provide a welcome that is truly welcoming without descending to mere professional courtesy. Fully Covid- secure. My only quibble is why they don't advertise their restaurant facilities more openly to non- members- everyone is welcome. Fully recommended.

Very disappointed, on arrival finding the course in lovely condition for early December only to find all the greens off and temps put in some rediculous positions. Baring in mind that at this time of year the greens are likely to come off for weeks we could have had a really good day. I'm afraid it was a case of yes do come and play for a lot of money but please keep off the grass!. The meal afterwards was lovely.
