Services
The cottage is approximately 120 years old and formed part of the Busketts Fletchwood Estate, the only property in Woodlands Road at that time. It was here that all the soft fruit and vegetables were grown for the main house and under part of the cottage is a water reservoir. Water was heated and pumped to the house and the pump room still has the original pipe work in it.
Kingswood Cottage offers two ensuite double rooms and one ensuite twin room, both with shower rooms. Beautifully furnished with co-ordinating soft furnishings the double aspect windows have views over the forest and are both comfortable and restful. The rooms are equipped with hospitality trays, colour tv's and hairdryers with an information folder containing places to visit and local restaurant menus.
Breakfast is served in the dining room and conservatory between 8 and 9.30am. Early light breakfasts can be arranged for those leaving early to catch a train, boat or plane. We offer a wide choice to suit all appetites and tastes with fresh fruit salad and yoghurts in addition to cereals for those preferring a lighter breakfast.
Set aside by William The Conqueror in 1079 for hunting the Royal Deer, the New Forest is certainly not NEW! Many customs and traditions continue and it is rich in history and heritage. The famous New Forest ponies are all owned by the Commoners whose properties have 'Forest Rights' attached to them.

We had a 3 night stay in this beautiful cottage, Christine and Paul are the best of hosts. Our room was great ,lovely views of the garden and the best bed we have slept in apart from our own! The breakfasts are delicious and really set us up for the day ahead. Our 3 nights felt more like a week as nothing was too much trouble for this obliging couple. We hope to go again very soon in the future and would certainly reccomend this hotel to our friends.
