Services
St Augustine's Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage 2020 framework, which promotes a child-centred approach focused on a combination of individual needs, environment and the contribution of the adults and professionals involved as a whole. Our curriculum provides learning opportunities based upon the children's interests, accessible to them and linking to the world around them, which they know and understand.
As a Healthy Early Years London setting, we promote health and well-being through encouraging physical activity and providing consistent messages to children, parents and staff. Our planning for both indoor and outdoor physical activities is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children have free-flow access to large space to move, explore and play imaginatively either inside or outside.
Parental involvement and enthusiasm is essential for the successful running of our nursery.
We greatly value parents and carers' involvement, and we always encourage you to get involved and contribute to the children's experiences, may it be by coming along to celebrate a cultural event, sharing some of your special skills with the children (cooking, playing a musical instrument, dancing, gardening, etc.) or coming to speak about your profession (you may wear an uniform at work or have fascinating equipment), your hobby, or just anything else that might interest the young minds!

We follow a regular structure for the day at the Nursery. We find that children thrive in routine. Knowing what to expect makes them feel secure and they begin to look forward to parts of the routine they like. This helps them settle at Nursery. Children are offered a mid-morning snack at Nursery. It includes a cup of milk or water, a variety of fruits, bread sticks or rice cakes and yoghurt for example.
