Dutch Bike Shop & Coastal Cycles
Specialist Workshop - We have considerable experience in fixing and servicing Dutch bike/Hub Geared bikes, Ebikes including Bosch, Yamaha and Shimano Steps as well as repairing derailleur gears and hydraulic brakes., truing wheels and more. We repair and service all makes/types of bikes, not just Dutch bikes.

However, we no longer work on Trikes. Many customers travel to us from outside our local area including London, Reading and even as far afield as Scotland. Pre-booking is essential for servicing, major repairs. We try and fit in puncture repairs and minor repairs without the need for a lengthy pre-booking date.
Services
We first opened our doors as 'The Dutch Bike Shop' almost 20 years ago in Pier Road, Littlehampton importing and selling new Dutch bikes. The first bricks and mortar dedicated Dutch bike shop in the UK. Sadly, Brexit has meant that we no longer import and sell New Dutch Bikes owing to the prohibitive costs and import complications.
Sorry, we do not courier our bikes all our bikes are built, ready to ride and go. New Model - Raleigh Hoppa is new take, on an old concept - an easy to ride with the benefit of 3 gears (Sturmey Archer) that's great for city and town riding. Complete with mudguards, chaincase, rear rack and front and rear lights and a side stand.
We stock a range of quality, used Dutch bikes. All of the Dutch bikes we sell from our shop have been fully checked and undergone an interim service carried out by our workshop. All are test ridden and are offered for sale in a perfectly useable condition. Please remember that all of our Dutch bikes bikes are actually used, pre-owned Dutch bikes, and will have associated marks, scuffs and may have rust patches/areas.
If you're looking to have your bike serviced or repairs carried out, we offer a comprehensive workshop servicing at our Littlehampton shop. We service pretty much all makes of Dutch and non-Dutch bikes as well as Ebikes with a number of regular workshop customers coming down from areas in London and beyond to have their Dutch bike serviced.

Brought my Gazelle CityGo C3 from 2018 (bought new from "Future Cycles" in Leicester) from Bournemouth to Littlehampton for:
- A rear light defect (probably caused by the rear mud guard vibrating against rear panned rack.
- Handlebar creaks.
- Left pedal periodic clunks.
Made an appointment about 4 weeks in advance, brought in the patient at first light.
All issues were sorted in about 3 hours, plus break cables replaced and oiled up.
I can say that the bike is running smoother and breaks better than when it was new, well worth the £99 plus 2×2 hours on the train.
I will definitely go

I am absolutely delighted with my new bike and I loved the whole shopping experience. I ordered my bike over the phone and when I collected it Brian had it all ready. He was extremely helpful, kind and patient - he carefully went over the bike explaining each feature and showed me how to adjust it and check the tyres. I wish all shops were as good as this!

Got a dutch bike from this shop.
One year on and many miles later I'm very satisfied.
My bike lives outside and is holding up as expected.
Service is excellent.
I'll see you for an annual service at some point soon.

Paul and Brian at The Dutch Bike Shop are shining examples of why we should all support small businesses.
I've just bought a Batavus Quip (Extra Cargo) from them and their support has been flawless; they answered my questions and concerns pre-purchase, prepared and perfectly boxed the bike the same day and had it out for delivery for me. Instructions were provided to complete the setup, and they were perfectly clear, concise and easy to follow. The bike itself is lovely, the pictures they had on the site don't do it justice.

Great shop. Bought a Batavus bike from here - their advice on frame sizing, choosing the right bike and the after sales service has been excellent. Paul and Brian really know their dutch bikes and are really nice people to deal with. Highly recommended

I have rented bikes from Coastal Cycles on two occasions now, and their services has been excellent. We had a couple of mishaps on out trip, but their help and kindness saved it from disaster. Thanks to you all.
