I had my old Brompton serviced and the chaps at Baker St have done a lovely job. They really know Bromptons, which wear in different ways to normal bikes. They also cleaned the bike - it looks as good as new and rides perfectly. Very nice work done efficiently and with good humour - what's not to like?

I've taken my bikes here several times for routine maintenance or general mishaps. The staff always seem to have time for a quick look, no matter how big or small the job. Very impressed that they replaced my front tyre without charge last week, simply because the previous one was very new on.
This is the sort of thing that inspires a loyal customer base, for me, and I think for everyone else. They've got a deserved reputation for acting like a proper cyclists’ shop. Support this excellent local business, even if you're not local.

Fantastic service after my bike had a loose bottom bracket and de-threaded. They were able to fix straight away. This is representative of their quality of a bike shop and has been over the thirteen years I’ve been in Brighton. Always had parts (even when I asked for the wrong ones) and are always thoroughly approachable

This shop is located in a very convenient place, in front of St Peters church. so you always notice it. Due to this advantage, I've tried to enter it several times.
Once, I was looking for a bike.. I was the only customer, still, had to ask guy for asisstance. He was completely helpless, couldn't explain me the differences, between brands, materials, didn't estimate a needed frame size. Thanks God I was smart enough not to buy a bike here.
When I bought a pretty cool bike, I still needed a really good lock and pedals.
The sales assistant wasn't really interested in my needs

I recently needed to replace a broken deraillieur on my son's Mountain Bike. I took it in to Baker Street Bikes on a Sunday morning and, even though there was another job queued up, I was able to jump the queue (due to the bike being unrideable). The quality of workmanship and attention to detail was excellent and the job was done in super quick time, too. It was also much less expensive than I expected (especially when you consider that I was desperate and could have easily been ripped off). Three weeks on and I have not even had to adjust the gears.
A great job and I would travel out

By most accounts this beats the local competition on competence, professionalism, efficiency and cost, and in my own experience, they did a perfectly good job on my humble steed. It's always difficult when you're a mechanical ignoramus, and you essentially put your trust in those someone you don't know and hope the won't rip you off. Though my bill was rather large (I hadn't serviced the thing in some time, and it was in quite a state) the work was done in a day, they phoned me to ask about any further work, and worked hard to obtain the parts that required replacement

I know it's not exactly bicycle-friendly weather at the moment, but I'm looking ahead to spring and decided to check out Baker Street Bikes today. The shop sells bikes for both kids and adults, with prices starting at less than £200.
Cycling accessories are also available for those who just want to decorate their bicycles and for avid cyclers who require more technical gadgets. I saw lights, padlocks, distance and calorie counters and decorative attachments. Cycling attire, like gloves, helmets and wind resistance outfits are also sold here.
Baker Street Bikes also has a repair shop
