The Banyan Tree
Welcome back and we sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. We have exciting changes happening over August so please keep an eye on our Facebook and other social media. We start off this week with the building of our outside dining area that will be a ground breaking development for Peterbororough.

Our delivery service will continue to operate as normal. Please check out Little Red Chilli as that is our own dedicated in-house ordering platform. There are now many "Banyan Trees" in England, the first and original Banyn Tree Indian restaurant started here in Peterborough 2005. We continue to set the standards that others try to follow!
Services
The Banyan Tree Westgate is our second Peterborough Indian restaurant, opening in 2010 in the heart of the city centre. Find us along Westgate adjacent to Queensgate Shopping Centre and John Lewis. Occupying three floors of the former Royal Hotel, our flagship Indian restaurant offers 100+ spacious covers in chic, modern surroundings.
Our cuisine represents a cross section of the major regions of India but is predominantly what is termed as Moghlai cuisine. This is primarily served in northern India and was greatly influenced by the Moghals. Persian descendants of the Mongals. This embraces the flavours of the Indian content to produce stunning cuisine that has become a hallmark of India and where Delhi is its home.
The Banyan Tree at Westgate is spread over two floors with the ground floor having a relaxed dining area and a large well stocked bar. At our Bar you can order from a fine selection of exclusive wines, speciality spirits and premium beers. We also have a our own crafted Cocktails that utilise subtle flavours with speciality spirits sourced from around the world.
Experience 10 courses of fabulous Indian Regional Cuisine which is then finished off with a serving of classic Indian Dessert. Ordered takeaway, the food arrived when it was supposed to and was the best curry we have had in Peterborough. Would definitely recommend trying their gunpowder gobi.

Absolutely Amazing!!! Great in every way! From food, to service, to drink selection (we stuck to the Cobra - but so many other fab beers to choose from! N non-beers too, obviously!) The quality of experience was just second to none n we live 40+miles away, but I'll def be back soon. Thank you!

Terrible - delivery took nearly 2 hours and the food was cold. Couldn’t get through to the restaurant on the phone for 30 mins. Email address invalid.

Had a hearty vegetarian meal. Kachumber salad was differently unique on my taste buds and dal makhani was out of the world (damn good). The waiting staff and as very accommodating and friendly.

My dish was like eating tomato soup with bits of chicken in it. My partners taste more like black pepper. Their dish menu has not got a lot to offer and nothing spicy or traditional. Brought wrong drinks to us. It was a waste of money never again will we get going here the food was so disappointing

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been too!
Not your typical Indian - amazing dishes and probably one of the best lamb chops I've had as starters. Everytime I go to Peterborough I always visit and never disappointed. I can't wait to go back!

We ate at The Banyan Tree last night. Fantastic service and amazing food!! The staff were really helpful when choosing vegan options and other options that were not too spicy 🌶 - but still full of flavour. We’re definitely going back 👍👍

This is the 2nd time that we have ordered from the Banyan Tree and both times the order has been incorrect. This time they missed off a meal. It’s difficult to believe that they can get an online order wrong. My wife now has cold rice and a dried out naan bread while still waiting for her main dish. Very poor service indeed.

I can consider this visit as successful. After lunch at "The Banyan Tree" I am able to write that I was satiated and spend time in a great atmosphere.
A typical Indian music that gives the climate. The decor also allows you to feel like in India.
Men who served me meals was professional and very kind and attentive.I do not know, but maybe because I was alone, I was often asked if food tasted good I think that this is an advantage. Everyone working there, except for the waiter, is from India so I believe that no one is able to undermine the taste of meals.
For appetizer I ordered 'Veg Manchurian
