This building at the heart of the beautiful village of Mortehoe was the vicarage for a few centuries before becoming a pub-hotel in 1820, and it has been sheltering and refreshing visitors just about every day since then. We're delighted to continue that tradition of good food, drink and hospitality and everyone here takes a lot of pride in what we do.

We are open all year round, and take bookings throughout the year - please call in, or phone us on 01271 870411 to reserve your table.
Services
We serve lunches and evening meals all year round, with a variety of seasonal dishes alongside the traditional Pub favorites. As well as our standard menu we always have daily specials, including a selection of fresh fish, much of it locally caught, and our homemade puddings. On Sunday Lunchtimes we serve a traditional Roast Dinner with all the trimmings and a selection of meals from our bar menu too.

Great little pub with friendly service. They used to do the best homemade leek and potato soup, which I think they should bring back 😀

Literally the best Carvery I have ever had, massive portions!! No generic packet mixed stuffing, gravy or yorkies all fresh and beautifully home made. The service was also second too none!!! Staff where friendly and chatty without being in your face. Honestly cannot recommend enough. If we are ever around this area again my husband and I will 100% be back. Thanks chichester arms. Xx

We stumbled upon this place today. Im a vegan. I havent had such a yummie vegan meal in ages. It was amazing. My partner loved his sausage and mash, which he shared with our dog Bear. Really lovely staff. We will go back 💕

Stopped for drinks after waking the headland and decided on food as well. We were sat outside to start with (with 2 wet dogs it seemed wise!) but it started raining after ordering food. One of the lady staff members found us a free table inside for us to eat our food in the dry! Excellent service, good food and real ale. Back next year!

Lovely pub food and good beer. Great vegetarian/vegan choice, which I find rare. And as we are veggies what a result.
Friendly staff and efficient.
When we visited no food between 1430 and 1730.
But it was well worth working around this as the food was really good.
Will be calling in again when we are next holidaying in the area.

This is a great pub. Old fashioned in look and feel. Great beer and really good food. I had the goat curry (never see that on the menu) which was excellent. They stop swerving food at 8pm which I found weird but otherwise a positive experience.

My favourite watering hole in Morte. Good food and a fair selection of drinks. If you can get in to grab a table, good luck, but if you do you are in for a treat.

This is a good pub. It's coping well with Covid. The staff are cheerful, energetic and helpful. The beer is good and we've enjoyed the food we've had there. We recommend the fish cakes.

The best pub in Morthoe (out of two!). New chef of late and the food has improved. Solid chips scampi etc good fish and chips and tasty good chicken katsu curry (goat curry was sold out).
Best avoid the early tea for kids at 6 o clock but you risk some dishes selling out but I prefer A good proper job ale or korev larger and wait for the rush to subside.
