The Ship Aground is a welcoming family pub set in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Mortehoe on the rugged North Devon coast. We have a large range of Draught Beers, Ciders, Real Ales and Wines. We offer food to suit every taste and a large selection of Blackboard Specials which include local fish specialities.
The pub is spread across 2 floors with ample room for large parties to sit together. There is free WiFi and well behaved dogs that are kept on a lead are welcome throughout the pub. Outside there is a sun terrace overlooking the village square with a patio area below it and also a rear decked area connected by patio doors to the upper floor.

Wow. How unwelcoming do you want your pub to be. I would have felt more at home walking into that pub on the moors from American Werewolf in London. I pulled up in my car and the moment I stepped out the locals went quiet and just watched me. I walked in and the chat reduced in volume as they noticed that I wasn't "from around there" although I live two streets away.
None of the regulars moved from the bar so I couldn't get near it. They made me feel so unwelcome that I didn't even really want to ask them to move. I squeezed in with some 'sorry's' thrown around and they just looked at me with
