Acorns Day Nursery
We are a small family run nursery, offering a personal service, endeavoring to work in partnership with parents enabling each child to reach their full potential. Acorns Day Nursery has played a huge part on our families life over the past eight years. Both of my children have been incredibly happy there and, over the years, the teams dedication to the children and their learning journey has been fantastic.

They have not only ensured that my children have been well cared for and happy, but they are equipped with the skills to start school and grow as individuals. I would highly recommend. I have sent all 3 of my children to Acorns Day Nursery and I cannot recommend them enough. My children have thrived in the supportive and caring environment provided by the exceptional staff at Nursery.
Services
Karen Long is our Nursery Manager and has work at Acorns since we opened, she oversees the daily running of the Nursery and will gladly meet with you to discuss your needs and arrange a look around. A team of qualified nursery practitioners and nursery assistants care for the children. Our staffing exceeds the minimum required adult to child ratios.
We encourage parent partnership and involvement in every aspect of your child's care and early years education. Our aim is to support parents as their children's first and most important educators by involving them in the full life of the setting. All parents are made to feel welcome and valued.

We operate an open house policy within the nursery where parents are encouraged to take an active part in nursery life sharing their cultural experiences, knowledge, skills and interests. We value our relationships with parents and are committed to working in partnership sharing an open communication of information which is used to improve and build upon our knowledge of the needs of each child and along with supporting the needs of the family.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children's 'school readiness' and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
Activities and experiences are carefully planned unique and individual to each individual child. Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through seven areas of learning and development. These 'Prime' areas are those most essential for your child's healthy development and future learning.
It's that exciting but sometimes scary time of the year where many families are starting to prepare their children for their next big adventure. You may have already heard of the term "School Readiness", but what exactly is it and how can you make sure that you and your child are ready? We would love to share some things with you to help prepare your child for school.

Daughter has been going here since 10months, loves it.
We're equally pleased and happy for her to carry on here until 4yrs old when she heads to primary school.
